The Flying Monkey Grill & Bar

We had the jumbo wings with buffalo on the side. Some of the best wings I’ve ever had. 10/10

Please read: November 1st. 2025. I had a very bad experience at this restaurant. I went there with friends after an important event. Since there were no tables available, we sat at the bar. The bartender was overly friendly, making too many jokes, which already made us a bit uncomfortable. Then a second bartender came to talk to us, she started talking to one of my friends and told him in front of everyone that my friends go there often and drink with his friends . and that they were a “bad influence” because they drink too much. She said this openly, making the situation bad in front of us. It was very unprofessional. I called the restaurant days later to speak with the owner, because he usually asks if everything is okay. I spoke with a manager, who said the owner would call me back to discuss the incident, but it has now been a week and I still haven’t heard from them. At this point, I can only assume they allow their employees to make customers feel uncomfortable and look bad. Staff should be professional, and they should never comment on customers’ personal habits or talk about how often they see them. It was a very disappointing experience Update 11-22-2025 My experience with this establishment has been extremely disappointing. During my visit, the bartenders displayed unprofessional behavior by being overly friendly and making inappropriate personal comments. I contacted the restaurant to report the issue, and although one of the managers claimed the owner would call me back, he never followed through. After a second call a week later, I still received no response. What is most concerning is that the restaurant staff disclosed my private complaint to my friend, when he went to the restaurant stating that I had submitted a review saying what happened. Instead of calling me, the staff told my friend about my complaint and said that I had left a review. The bartender even told him that I was wrong, my friend told me the owner talked to him, so the owner can talk to him not to me? So, “this is what happens” when someone speaks up. Because of that, my friend showed up at my house during a gathering I was hosting to support another friend who is fighting cancer,to confront me about the review. This was humiliating and completely inappropriate. My complaint should have remained strictly between me and management not shared with anyone else. The fact that the restaurant shared my personal complaint with someone else shows a total lack of professionalism, integrity, and respect for customer confidentiality. No guest should be put in that position. Given the conduct of the bartenders, the failure of management to address the situation, and the unacceptable sharing of my private feedback, I cannot recommend this restaurant in any way. Anyone that think to go there have to think about if the own privacy is safe.

Visiting from Chicago area, brunch is a common thing at CT restaurants. We were looking for lunch. Luckily there were many options and what we ordered was delicious. The chicken biscuit sliders were yummy and the breakfast burrito was fresh and tasty. The place is very clean and has a fun vibe.

I don’t usually complain but service was a little slow this day and it wasn’t that busy. It took 40-45 minutes for my appetizer to come out, almost like my server forgot to put it in. This was actually the first time this has happened to me.

First time here and decided to give it a try. Place looked nice and clean and staff was friendly. However, food was mediocre for the most part. Wings and eggrolls were pretty good but wife ended up getting a French onion soup which tasted off and was mushy and just filled with bread and cheese. Wife sent it back after two bites but was still charged full price after informing staff that it was not good. Ordered a cheese burger which was juicy but nothing to brag about. Their espresso martini and crème brule martini were good atleast. Also charged 20% gratuity for a party of two to sit outside at a half empty patio.
