The old location was fantastic with great food for an affordable price. The new location is suboptimal, yet the prices have tripled and the vibe is off. I wouldn’t be able to comfortably afford anything here, so it is easy to just rule out. I miss the old Russel. That place was dope.

I went for Brunch on Sunday November 23,2025. It was the Worst Experience I have ever had at this establishment. First off it was $23.67 to enter so I expected better service then what I received. I felt very rushed to order my meal and when I received it I was less then impressed. I ordered fries which I was told by the waitress that they ran out and that I had two other choices (mind you brunch started at 12:00pm and we were there at 2:00 pm and they were already running out of things) I also ordered barbecue chicken wings. They looked and smelled good until it was time to bite into them and they were very hard and old. I am also a chef so I know these things. When I let the waitress know they refused to take it off the bill because I tried them. How else was I going to know what they taste like. I travel over an hour numerous times to come to this establishment and I can tell you I will not be patronizing this place ever again!!!!! They were very rude unapologetic and basically kicked us out!!!!!!!

The lady at the front desk was very pleasant. The servicer/ waitress lack personality. Was not warm or friendly. The food was not hot. The taste was just ok. We visited back in February of this year and it was chaotic due to there was only 1 person waitressing but the food was very good and hot, drinks, desserts very good.

Everything was Great! I was in town visiting from Texas I love this place it reminded of home and the Entertainment was Amazing i was there on November 13th with Friends. Food was Great! Hot & Swift my next visit to Connecticut i will Diffently be revisiting this Restaurant.

The Russell was a good as expected. If you want to experience Jamaican cuisine this is the place to go!
I ordered a $10 Russell salad with Croutons and pineapple. No Croutons, and was given a small sauce cup with 5 very small pieces of pineapple, is what I received when I checked the order back at my office. This was $10!! I'm extremely disappointed and upset that they are charging that amount of money for a $1.00 worth of lettuce, what a joke! This is the Last time I go there, and I will make sure I don't recommend this place and let others know in my office. I had high hopes. What a disappointment.
