Went to tico’s the other day with my husband and the two ladies serving the food were blasting music to the point where they couldn’t hear us so we had to yell over the music. The two ladies also kept joking around and pushing each other, and they were flirting with the male customers. I had to keep repeating myself because the ladies kept fooling around as i was ordering. As i was ordering for my husband i asked if she could try not to put so many onions on my husband’s plate, she sucked her teeth and said oh my god with an attitude, very unprofessional. Tico’s was a place i loved to go, but after that experience, i would not be going back.

Went there a couple of weeks ago and the workers there are really nice and accommodating. The food is so good! Fresh and flavorful. I ordered to go but ended up just eating there while watching a show. I also ordered on DoorDash and the food was also great. Good portions.

Hey, its your girl honest review. Tico's hit the spot 😋 They are friendly, and food is always fresh! I got pernil with the cwispy skin, rice n gondules and beans, and sweet plantains on the side. I ate some, so my pic ain't how i got it, okuurr. Smack dabbbity dab, delicious!!! They were busy because, duhhhh, 😆 Def, check them out if you are craving Spanish food on the southend of hartford, on franklin ave! They are budget friendly, 2 meals were $18!! My friend used to live near Ticos. So I've eaten there plenty. While the Pernil is excellent, My go to was the fried Stuffed potatoes balls( with beef) and the fried stuffed plantains( beef). Now that I'm reading the reviews about their soup, I'll have to try. The owner, Carlos and his wife along with the staff are great people. Definitely ask for fresh passion fruit juice to go with your meal. Won't be disappointed. Ticos is my favorite Spanish spot in Hartford, and that's saying a lot cuz there are some great options

Very likeable ladies working there.
We came early so the stuffed potato balls were fresh and hot. The ground beef was lightly seasoned and had some gristle in it. The potato was seasoned with probably just salt. The crust was delicate and thin.
The beef empanada had a tiny scoop of ground beef.
Great atmosphere. The food is cozy but sadly not something I would go out of my way for.
