Based on customer reviews, Phantom Burger & Brewery offers a mixed experience. The interior is great, with a main room and a side room with a pool table. The restaurant is clean and prices are fair.
The food receives conflicting feedback. Some found the burgers dry, with a dry patty and bun, and were never asked how the meat should be prepared. Others found the food delicious, with a Bacon smashed Cheeseburger that was juicy and the Hot Chick sandwich being very good and savory. However, recent visits note the burger patty has become a "paper thin wafer of beef" or a "beef cracker," making a $14 burger seem ridiculous. The corn chowder was good, and the Mac'n'cheese had a deep cheese flavor with smokiness and hotness, though it was from the kids menu. The fries were mostly fine but a bit dry.
The drinks provide a greater experience. There is a big selection of beers on tap and several in-house meads, with a wide variety of styles. The brewery does not serve flights, but short pours are available. The Imperial Stouts (Mythical Czar and Mythical Breakfast) were hits. The meads are light, refreshing, and perfect for summer. The Blueberry Hibiscus Mead is bright and crisp. The Cream ale and King Tut IPA are very good, though some sours are unavailable.
Service is inconsistent. Some staff are friendly and helpful, while others offer no acknowledgment, forcing customers to wait over ten minutes. Food wait times can be extreme, with one customer waiting an hour for a burger.
