Took a day trip to Kent and stopped here for a late lunch with my family. The restaurant itself is big and spacious with plenty of room. We first sat in the first dining area which was pretty dark so I asked to be moved to other room with windows which was a lot better. The food was okay. I got a salmon burger and I don’t know if it was fresh or just a frozen salmon patty deep fried. Daughter got the pho bowl. She complained that they didn’t give her enough broth which I have to agree. It was lacking broth and according to her the flavor was okay. Hubby got steak frites which he said was okay and our son got the southwest burger which he liked. The place was pretty empty for the size and I felt so rushed when eating. They kept coming over and looking at our plates but not in a can I get you anything else way, but more of an are you done yet way. It was pretty awkward. Overall, I don’t think we’ll be going back.
I didnt stay in the hotel but had an opportunity to eat at the restaurant with my kids. We didnt have a reservation on 5pm Sunday night so i would recommend one. The staff kindly sat us and asked that we respect the later reservation at 630pm but we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal. We ordered salads, pasta, salmon, and desert and it was all delicious. Even more impressive than the food was the live music and the highly experienced wait staff. Hats off to the entire team who made our night and we will definitely be coming back.
Such a beautiful little place! Our room at the in was very quaint and comfortable, beautiful updated bathroom.
The restaurant was SO fantastic, lunch was phenomenal, and our little valentines dinner was perfect: the food, the ambiance, and the wonderful servers all made it a beautiful experience. Highly, highly recommend!
Burger was great and my wife loved the salmon.
The restaurant had a concentrated menu where anything you pick would always come out great! Service was attentive and quick. Between my friends and I, we had:
-Seared Scallop Risotto
-Steak Frites (can sub fries for mashed potatoes)
-Southwest Burger (sub gluten free bun)
-Roasted Cauliflower (Vegan/Vegetarian)
-Lentil Soup
Didn't stay at the Inn but it's in town and walkable to other shops on the main street.
Burger and fries great. The homemade spinach ravioli delicioso.
Service was great for lunch, I was able to order off the old menu without hesitation by the server. Very professional, nice older tavern like feel and good food. We have been here before and will be back.
We did not do the hotel. This review is only for the restaurant. We ate on a Wednesday right when they opened at 3, we were the only ones in the restaurant but it was an off season day. Chicken parmesan was good. Substantial amount of chicken. Ravioli was good also. Caesar salad for two at the table was also good but not noteworthy so I would skip it next time. Bill was $100
I am so impressed that they had a vegan option on the menu -- it was delicious. My companion had the cuban sandwich and loved it.
Beautiful peace, great fine dining experience. The food was excellent

A wonderful restaurant. Friendly staff, great ambience and good food. We are happy to recommend it to anyone visiting Kent.
Great stop along the Appalachian Trail to rest and eat
We just held a surprise anniversary dinner and we are more than glad we chose Fife ‘n Drum! Elissa was hands down amazing, she truly made the dinner. No glass ever went more than half empty, not one issue with an order, everything went so smoothly We were given a private spot for our group of 19, she assisted with opening curtains for our surprise reveal, handled cutting and serving the cake we brought. It was fabulous and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
LOVE LOVE! Beautiful clean room, thoughtful service, free WiFi, restaurant right next door, in the center of town, easy parking, a gift shop below...I mean, really? When everything else is going up, the Fife Country Inn is still affordable yet well appointed and maintained. I LOVED that I could walk everywhere! It's a special place, family-run, in a special town.
Excellent service and food
