Consistently good comfort food at this charming spot with indoor/ outdoor community tables and individual banquettes . Great salads, Fish and chips, fried chicken, ribs, chocolate cake and seasonal specials. I love a small menu with fresh ingredients. Craft cocktails with homemade seasonal ingredients are worth the visit. Sit at the bar with Liz and she will make you something special! Staff is beyond friendly and personable. Small town, local, iconic!

Enjoyed a casual Sunday lunch here. The staff were very nice, as was the owner, who was running the bar. The tomato soup and BLT+A sandwich were excellent. I was also pleased that the inside noise level was low, allowing me and my wife to have a relaxing and pleasant conversation while eating. There was ample and pleasant outdoor seating. The salad had a really tasty dressing. The owner told me a little bit about it, but I won't tell you here, you'll have to ask when you go there for lunch. Three bits of advice: ask for crispy bacon in the sandwich. If you like things quiet, like I do, don't go at night, apparently, that's when it gets noisy. Note there are no dedicated gluten-free options.

Because of a rainy forecast we chose to eat dinner inside: major error: The noise was loud and difficult to have a conversation for our table of six. Several tables which filled after our arrival were served ahead of us despite our order being put in. Although the ramps pasta was good, the two servings of ribs were either too well done or not enough. This is an expensive restaurant that should do better in service as well as options.

What a cute place! Came for Sunday brunch with my boyfriend over an hour away from home and we were not disappointed. John was a great server and the atmosphere of the place was extremely inviting. Try the breakfast pizza!

What a place. This place is nestled in a bucolic setting on the banks of the Housitanic River. If aren't doing anything and want to get back to a simpler time and enjoy some good food and drink with great people, get in the car and make the drive...it's worth it.

Charming and small gastropub with a nice outdoor patio setup. Limited but tasty brunch. Excellent chorizo and hash. Rock solid apple pie with ice cream from Arethusa. The coffee is good but I think Paul from Kent, one of the other reviewers, way over sells it. Suffice it to say Frank knows how to make a proper cappuccino and is a good bartender.Criticisms are minor and mostly have to do with portions on the plate. The staff and the service was super friendly and on point. Like all of them, which is rare. Several reviewers mentioned noise and I can easily see how the place could get very loud at full capacity. Just the nature of that type of building. If you are near Cornwall, or taking a drive up the 7, it's worth a leisurely stop.

Pleasant decor, immaculately clean restaurant. Would be enjoyable to dine outside, weather permitting. Waitstaff average. Then a bit downhill: We were not aware until we four were seated that a time line existed before we were required to vacate the table. Fish as in fish and chips was good. Slimy potatoes accompanied the fish. Bland appetizers and pedestrian, boring desserts. Overall impression: blah!

After having dinner in Kent, we drove over to see the stunning bridge in west Cornwall. Even though we’d just eaten, we said to ourselves, “it’s so beautiful over here by the bridge. I wonder if there any good restaurants….” And then I saw a sign for Frank Food Company. So we walked in and were greeted with an infectious smile by Frank himself. He asked if we had a res. We said, “No we just wanted to stop by and look in.” After seeing the menu (looked fabulous) and the adorable interior, we promised to return on an empty stomach next time. We will, and we can’t wait!

We were seated quickly. Water is in a jug on the table. Looking forward to nicer weather and trying out the patio dining.

Sarah is an excellent waiter and co-creator of an amazing cocktail called Smoky Revolver #2. Highly recommend the Hurlburt Burger.

Edit: sadly lowering my review after a mediocre brunch. The avocado toast was not good.Let me preface by saying: I will go back and give it another try! The service was perfect, friendly, genuine. However, I was very unimpressed / disappointed by the burger. No aioli or mayo (?) available and it desperately needed it. And a bun with more density (less soft). Burger perfection is definitely an art. This missed the mark for me.The inside atmosphere is quite loud (but lively and fun). I had a hard time hearing others at our small table of 3. Frank is so energetic and friendly, and it shows in the energy of the space! I hope to give 5 stars next time.

Stopped by on a Sunday around 12:30. Brunch menu only, however they were out of many items (smoked salmon, certain breads). Our food took over 45 minutes to arrive after ordering as we watched other people get seated and served after us.The BLT and avocado toast both looked good, but two burgers ordered medium-well were grossly undercooked. One had huge raw portions of meat. This is not an exaggeration. We both love steaks medium-rare (the way God intended) but not chopped meat. And for $18 no fries with a burger, just greens?I was hopeful since the servers were nice, but the food and lack of attention from the staff while we waited were deeply disappointing. We won't be back.

I've eaten here 3 times. The food has been uniformly very good to excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly. It's clear they are trying hard to make this place work and it shows. The only negative I have is that it's painfully loud in the dining area. I could hear every word said 3 tables over, but had to strain to hear my partner's voice 2 feet away. The acoustics could probably be fixed--I hope they figure it out, because this restaurant is a great addition to the area's limited dining options

What a gem! We had Saturday brunch. We got the burger, blt, avocado toast and the french toast. All was delicious but the french toast was out of this world. So yum! Peak Connecticut on a fall day.

Kid-friendliness: We sat outside so it was lovely for kids.
