I’ve been to Clam Castle a couple of times before and the food was pretty decent. This time I ordered a codfish taco and the fish was completely off. It wasn’t slightly off or just starting to go off but very much off. It would be impossible not to tell when making the taco. Quite disappointing.

Worst seafood platter. I’ve had in a few years. Food has sunk to a new low, prices were over inflated. The fried cod was turning bad scallops not completely cooked, clam strips and fried shrimp were ok. The Clam fritters looked good initially, the inside of the the fritters were doughy and smelled and tasted nasty.. the cooking oil was either cheep or not properly cleaned each night. For $60.00 it could have and should have been much better

Love the whole clams here. They also have good tartar. Many places go cheap with pre packaged tartar but they make their own and it makes a difference

This is usually my go to for fried clams but after today, I will start going back to Lenny and Joes across the street. $28 for the clam strip platter is outrageous! The strips are so thin and greasy, the coleslaw was drench with mayo and fries… well u really can screw up fries! The seating area out back was once a nice area to eat outdoors. Now it looks run down, dirty and all the decor looks junky.
One corn hole board w no bean bags leaning against a fence. What a shame. Used to be nice and I preferred their clams strips over their competitors, but while there, I looked at Lenny and Joes pricing and their platter is $20! Big difference and a much nicer atmosphere. No wonder the place was quiet. They just lost 4 customers.

The prices are a little high, but average for the area. The tacos and fried seafood are great. There's inside seating, and a lot of outside seating with plenty of shade. This is a perfect spot for a meal when visiting Hammonasset State Park.

Worth it.

Just as good as before!

Clam fritters were giant dough balls with teeny pieces of clam inside. Give me less, but make it right. Fries were good, service was fine.

Unfortunately, I am not sure what’s happened with the food quality, but it has gone downhill. Used to love this place as a child, as an adult I can’t say the same. Sorry clam castle.

We grabbed dinner here and had a very good experience. You enter through a door at the front of the building. There’s menus by the cash register. You place your order and pay. If you’re staying to eat they give you a little buzzer device and you grab a seat. There’s tables inside the restaurant as well as several picnic tables outside. When your food is ready someone will bring it to your table. It couldn’t be easier. They offer quite a good selection of food as well as soft drinks (soda, water, etc). We both really enjoyed our meals. I had the whole belly clams with french fries and it was delicious. The parking, restaurant and outdoor dining areas are all wheelchair friendly. The Clam Castle is really easy to get to as it’s located on the Boston Post Road in Madison. It’s close to Hammonasset State Park so if you follow signs to the state park you’ll find the restaurant. There’s parking on the side of the building. Definitely recommend it your in the area and want some really good food and a casual atmosphere.

Cole slaw is absolutely disgusting! Broiled cod has no taste. Lemonade was good. I don’t recommend this place!
