This place has gone seriously down hill since these new owners took over with their Taco Pacifico added. This was an iconic shoreline go to place but now the food is not good and way overpriced. Service is no smile, don't care attitudes. I tried to give it a chance twice since they changed buy after last time, never again. I've even seen on Google reviews where they actually insult some of their customers who give a bad review. Absolutely unacceptable.

Horrible. Just horrible all the way around. No one was there, still waited over half an hour for fish tacos, fries and onion strings. Wait and kitchen staff goofing off without a care. Food finally came out with a very lax apology of ‘sorry for the wait’ as she turned and walked away. Then found out the food was awful, fries and onion straws ice cold, tacos cold and smashed up bits of fish in soaked through corn shells. Used to frequent this place often a couple years back before the new owners . Will never go back now that it’s changed for the worse. I’d give no stars if allowed. Very disappointing…

Large whole belly clam order perhaps had at most 4 whole bellies in the entire order! The remaining pieces were small and tough! String style onion rings made in house tasted very greasy with no onion flavor. Clam chowder was bland and chewy. Coleslaw was like eating mayonnaise out of a jar! Hate to knock a 60 year old institution but the food was horrible! $32 for a large whole belly fried clam order when half of it had to be discarded! My guest didn't care for their meal either. Place was kinda dirty too!

Very over priced small portions, very small order of clam strips $13 also the smallest beef taco I have ever laid eyes on 5.95.There are far better seafood restaurants on the shoreline than the Clam Castle.Forty five years ago it was great, and those days are long gone. To Bad !

So sad to see this place go down like this was are favorite places to eat seafood shameful the old owners should've taken their name with them not let people get fooled by thinking it's the same place . Have to find a new spot

The Clam Castle, located near Hammonasset Beach in Madison, Connecticut, is a beloved local gem with a rich history dating back to the 1950s. Over the years, it has become a favorite stop for beachgoers seeking delicious seafood.

After a sunny day at the beach, there's nothing better than stopping by The Clam Castle for a hot, fresh buttered lobster roll. The lobster rolls are perfectly prepared, with succulent lobster meat drenched in buttery goodness, all served on a soft, toasted bun. It's the quintessential New England seafood experience.

In addition to their famous lobster rolls, The Clam Castle offers a variety of other seafood delights, ensuring there's something for everyone. With its charming, nostalgic atmosphere and consistently great food, it's easy to see why The Clam Castle remains a favorite destination for both locals and visitors alike.

Even though I don't eat seafood clam castle has always been a go to for me. Whenever my dad is in town from Maryland it's what he requests when we head to the shore. Unfortunately except for the onion strings the quality has gone down since owners switched. Don't see the point in having Mexican attached to it makes no sense. It breaks my heart to see this happen and see so many negative reviews. I don't want this stopping people from trying it because to each their own but it is unfortunate how much it's changed. And now my go to chicken sandwich isn't even on the menu ?

Ordered 2 whole belly clans for $32. Each. They were tiny pieces, over cooked. You couldn't eat them. Worst part I ordered for take out, and didn't see what I received until I got home. Live an hour and half away.

The new owner should change the name of the restaurant completely.

If the recipes and food are downgraded, it's poor business practice.

In addition, I ordered a side of butter for my baked scallops. They put "fryer oil" in a soup cup instead.

I spent $75.57

If you like overpriced cafeteria food, you'll love this place.

Parking: Fix the food and maybe the parking lot will be full again.

Did have whole belly clamps were good but it seems it was precooked maybe because of the crowd but it should have been hotter Good portions The order came with no fries just whole belly clams had tables inside and out needs a little bit more parking space for vehicles sometimes it could get overcrowded...
