My family has been going to Nick's Place for over 30 years and have had nothing but amazing experiences that have made us return time after time. Today we went in very excited to return and had a negative experience as soon as we entered. The busser was extremely kind and helped us get to our table with cutlery and then we were not tended to or spoken to by anyone else. The two waitresses present were openly talking negatively about other staff members and how they did not want to take anymore tables. When we got tended to our waitress was openly yelling at a customer's table next to ours which made our time uncomfortable. The food was good but the portions were smaller than previously which was disappointing. At the end of the meal we went to pay and was told that it would be $50.00 for a shared sandwich, two grilled cheeses and drinks. We were astounded and asked for clarification and staff said that was correct. As a family we had our favorite items and have been ordering the same things for years and were shocked when this was the price that was conveyed to us.We have always been loyal customers and have positive experiences and today really impacted our view of Nick's Place with the unkind and slow service as well as the sudden huge increase in prices. We will sadly not be returning.

The best breakfast spot in Madison. we went on Father's Day we were a party of 12, waitress was outstanding... everyone's meals were great, alleals came at the same time, they didn't rush us much better than the establishment by the beach in the old Dolly Madison... Nick's Place never disappoints!

We are visiting the area for our anniversary and hands down, the best breakfast we've had in a while! Bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant was the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! Ham was very good and pancakes were light and fluffy. Definitely recommend if you’re in the Madison area!

My husband and I recently tried Nick's place for dinner. My first impression when we arrived was how clean the restaurant was. Once we selected a table and sat down, our server immediately came to the table to ask about drinks and drop off a menu. She was very friendly and attentive during our entire meal.
The menu had a wide variety of items to select from and there also was a list of daily specials. As far as our food, we enjoyed what we ordered, which was a patty melt and a chicken gyro. The portions were a good size and The prices were very reasonable. We look forward to going back and trying other items off of their menu.
