Great bartender and atmosphere. The drinks were reasonably priced too! Will definitely be going back.
Let's go Spurs! Europa Cup Champions!
I’ve been going to 2nd Bridge for a few years now and it’s my favorite spot in central CT by far. Not only are the beers delicious, but it’s truly a “Cheers” environment where everyone not only knows your name but also every story you’ve shared before. I highly recommend this pub to anyone who wants a cozy spot that has excellent libations and the finest array of football around.
Normally I have a lot to say about local businesses, but these guys seem to be accommodating to a crowd that I am not a part of, i.e. Slytherin vs Gryffindor. I spent my time there envisioning a party, situation, or environment that just did not exist, would never happened, and did not want to seem to be hosted. I've never seen more than 5 people, including the bartender and myself (and Mom) at one given time, so I am wondering how low the rent is in town for a location like that. The beer was good enough but the environment left a bitter taste in my mouth, as if there was some lost battle that I slept through and no one gave me an update on who the victors were. If you have been on that Harry Potter House Placement quiz, and you were rated as a Slytherin, perhaps call up your friends and visit 2nd Bridge because that's where you should be. With a client list so small, beers should be cheaper and they should be handing them out for free just for summoning halfway decent customers that don't want to feel threatened by some unspoken vibe. Plus, they had hockey on but it's a European Football-themed pub, which proves they have strayed far from their origin story as many local breweries do when they get their first taste of victory.
This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I tried beers from 2nd Bridge at several beer festivals, but this was the first time I visited the brewery.
The brewery is located in a former factory building. There's plenty of parking space in front of it. It has 2 rooms, offering both soft couches to sit and the traditional bar seating. No food is available except snacks, but they are partnered with another establishment to order food delivery. The style of this brewery is a soccer sports bar (or football, for the rest of the world).
The brewery offers beer flights of four. For this review I tried all beers available. The beers were just fine. This is not a fancy place like other breweries. They are geared towards European styles, bitters in particular. I still enjoyed the majority of the taps, especially because there's a good selection of styles available. My main complaint would be about the flight paddles - they are unmarked (so you better have a good memory about your order) and not convenient to move around with glasses barely fitting the paddle. Also, 2 of my beers poured from the wrong taps, and I only knew that because I paid attention to the order. No big deal for me, as my goal was to try everything, but it might affect others.
Still, I would recommend this place for sports fans around. The brewery also deserves at least one visit if you like to try new craft beers.
We've been meaning to check this place out for a while, We heard good things but honestly I was not impressed.
Quite an interesting building.I do like the a detector I only tried one beer I asked the guy behind the bar if you had any suggestions which all he said was he doesn't like IPA's. I think I got a blonde ale but again I don't remember the name of it.
It was o k.
The real turn off about this for me Was the guy serving the beers. He seemed kind of annoyed when we were asking questions and he gave very short quick answers. Not informative or helpful at all.
My impression was he was more interested in some kind of card game He seemed to have going on with another guy at the end of the bar and watching the soccer game.
He did not seem interested in tending to the customers.
It was okay but I don't see a reason to return.
Googled brewery near me while driving on 84. Went to this place and purchased 3 bottles to go. Very solid beer. Only wish it was in cans.
My favorite spot to catch Premier League soccer matches! The owner is an Arsenal supporter, so Arsenal fans come out strong for matches. However, fans of all teams visit. They usually have 10 beers on tap. No good, but you can bring your own snacks.
Great beer, great staff, fun brewery. Wish they served food though.
As a self-proclaimed fan of soccer, this place cannot be beat. It's the closest thing you can get to an English pub for watching a game! Located in the basement space of the Old Mills, they have quite good beer, a decent selection of wine and alternative beverages, and there is always food available for purchase. At least half the clientele at any given time are regulars, but you will always feel welcome no matter what.

Nice selection of beers. Bartender was very chill, attentive, helpful and smiled. A smile really goes a long way....he is super nice. We had so much fun playing darts, connect 4 and other games. Great way to spend a Friday afternoon.
Calling all Gunners, grab a North London brew and cheer the Arsenal! Great beer, great atmosphere.
