First off, I would give Aura another chance. The place is lovely, and our waitress was attentive and friendly. Two of us that were the most unhappy chose from the nightly specials, a mistake I always tell myself not to do! So, the salmon side was dry and over cooked the guest used butter on the salmon to eat it, the short rib was stringy and tough and mushy, the pork was dry, and the parsnips were cold. the flatbread appetizer was very good. Breadbasket bread gave the impression it was nuked in a microwave. I guess when you go to Italian restaurant you should stick with the pasta!
Thanks to Chef Nicola and the excellent waitstaff for a nice first time dinner at Cafe Aura.
Main dishes cooked and seasoned very well. Appetizers tasty and displayed in front of you.
We picked Cafe Aura for our 24th wedding anniversary dinner. I had written in on the reservation that it was our anniversary. No special acknowledgement. It was a Monday night so the waitress could have asked if there was a special occasion to bring us out on a Monday night. Food was not tasty. I had the penne all vodka and there was no flavor. I found the bread to be chewy and tough. I tried my husband's chicken Parm and it too was way under seasoned. No flavor!! We will not be back any time soon.
First visit. Heard good things. This was better. Excellent server. Answered our questions and had great apps. - burrata & eggplant and calamari. Then had fabulous entrees like veal Marsala, a margarita pizza, skate wings (very perfectly done) and then finished off with crème brûlée and bread pudding. The highlight as well was Geno stopping by to checkin & say hello's.
Omelets less than average, potatoes cold, bacon under cooked, “salad” on plate just old lettuce-no dressing. Service poor, delayed for tea after almost completing breakfast after asking when meal was delivered. Come on Geno-don't put your famous name in a mediocre brunch... not worth me not wanting to try dinner. Your Genius restaurants at UCONN and in Southington was far better and they were closed down... up your game or get outta the brunch business.
The chicken parm was delicious as was meatballs and Caesar salad! Portions were huge so I took half or my chicken parm home! Key lime pie was great as well!
Best restaurant around!

One of the best places I’ve ever eaten. The serving staff was A+. The bill was well worth what we ate. I have to start making this more of a regular place for us to eat because they accommodate everybody.

Drinks and food were not the same. Tried 3 different meals and none hit. Im so disappointed 😞 cafe aura get it together‼️ please 🙏 you gonna loose a regular 😔. ‼️

What a great meal. This is a great restaurant. Our meal was very reasonably priced and the quantity and quality was excellent. The staff is always polite and energetic, you never feel rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Had the grilled Red Snapper and watermelon and mango salad and it was very good. Will definitely go again. Also recommend the Fig Martini.
