I recently visited Kobe Asian Bistro in Manchester, CT, for a hibachi dinner with friends, but my night was completely ruined due to an uncomfortable and inappropriate experience. One of the hibachi chefs decided it was funny to squirt me in the eye with water when I wasn’t paying attention. While I understand that these dinners often involve playful interactions, this crossed a line. I was left embarrassed, uncomfortable, and frankly, very upset. I spent the rest of the evening trying to recover from the situation, wiping my face and dealing with the sting in my eye.
As if that weren’t enough, the chef repeatedly called me "Rihanna," seemingly because of my brown skin. At one point, I even voiced, "I think I’m being racially profiled." Instead of addressing my concern, it only made the situation worse. I had to suppress my anger and discomfort for the entire night, and it left me feeling humiliated in front of my friends and family.
This experience was far from enjoyable, and the staff did nothing to remedy the situation when I voiced my discomfort. The combination of feeling disrespected, embarrassed, and ignored completely ruined what was supposed to be a fun evening. I sincerely hope the management takes this seriously, as no one should have to feel this way while dining out.
I won’t be returning to Kobe Asian Bistro, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Food always fresh, hot, tasty and packed leak proof. Dining is sucks though. Take out has less hiccups every time. My suggestion is hiring more lunch menu servers. I enjoy the hibachi menu the best. The dining room always seem dark. I prefer well-lit.

I ordered Pad Thai & a Spicy Tuna roll via DoorDash. Presentation of food seemed ok. The Pad Thai didn’t look fresh. Smelled good though. While eating, I became what I thought was full rather quickly. Surprised because I was starving. Put food away for next days lunch. Fullness then turned into sharp stomach pain. I became violently sick for over an hour. Not like me to get sick. I felt fine before eating. I filed a complaint with DoorDash with pictures. I was fully refunded. I threw the leftovers in the garbage. I was sick for 3 days afterwards. Do not recommend eating here.

Kobe is a hidden gem in Manchester, CT and I have been here so many times and everytime the food is so so good! The staff is so attentive about your needs and we always prefer spicy food and they make it soooo perfect!! I would go back anyday I want to have asian food, and I am never gonna be disappointed!
Kid-friendliness: My 6yr old has discovered love for sushi and he wanted to have the TNT roll, which was spicy! So our waitress instead brought in the spicy sauce seperately so he could enjoy sushi❤️

Be careful coming here. Waitress am decided to tip herself extra on my card. My bill was $68 WITH THE TIP when I checked my bank statement the next day, I was charged $98. I went and I did get my money back with no fuss (made me think it wasn’t the first time she did this to someone) but that was the first time I went there and based off that I’ll never be back. Tables were super sticky to the point where my shirt sleeve stuck to the table and my shirt ripped pulling it off which was disgusting. There are so many other hibachi places in the area, don’t waste your time and money on this one.

The service was on point, friendly and courteous, food was amazing portions were good and filling a bit pricey but definitely a good place to enjoy, our booth was a bit worn and uncomfortable we were able to move about and get comfortable

There were six of us in our party for hibachi. Very long wait for food service. We never received our salad and waitress didn’t come back after first drink order. Also guests who ordered white rice did not receive it. They up charge $3 for fried rice and clearly push it. Will not dine here again.
Good food. Service is perhaps too attentive at times. I've been here for my birthday, for bands, dates, and for happy hour. It's always a good time.

Don’t ever go on a Monday night. We got sat at 8:00, ordered our hibachi. Got our drinks, sat there until 8:45 when I went to ask when we’d have our food made I was told, very snotty, that there’s only one chef and we’d have to wait. Then, instead of the manager(?) coming to apologize for the wait, he sent the waitress over, who was very nice and brought us some edamame in the meantime. Poor management and poor customer service. If it’s going to be that long of a wait, tell us when we first get there and don’t let us sit there wondering for almost an hour. I felt so bad for the chef because once he came to make our food, it was awkward and he felt the need to also apologize. Just wish the first person I spoke to (manager?) was as kind. Food was good though…
