Everything you'd expect of a late-night calzone takeout place, but with vegan substitutes. Consistent and enjoyable.
Maybe my expectations were too high. I had an ex boyfriend from probably 15 years ago who ordered DP Dough for himself when we were at a college party and was cheap and didn’t get me anything. And I was also a broke college student and didn’t have money for it back then. So out of spite to my ex boyfriend, I have wanted to try DP Dough for a very long time. I had a job last week very close to Storrs that made me say hmm, I think I have to try it now.
Ordered over the app. I chose 2 different options for takeout for my dad and I that were vegetarian options that both had ricotta in them. The app worked great. Got there to pick up, only 2 young women employees in the store. Not super friendly atmosphere nor very inviting. It’s ok, I’m not there for customer service. Got home almost an hour away, neither one had ricotta. I chose these 2 because they had ricotta and the veggie selection I wanted. They were overfilled with mozzarella but that was absolutely not what I wanted. Slim pickings for the veggies in them too. Very small serving for a calzone.
Overall, this would do the trick for a drunk meal which I’m sure college students love them for but if you want accurate or a large portion with friendly service, that doesn’t exist here. I definitely felt happy I hadn’t missed anything knowing this was what my ex ate that night when I sat there jealous and hungry ?

my friends had a fine experience with their food, however we waited over 30 minutes for these “garlic parm sticks” that were literally just plain dough. I ate a few pieces with the garlic butter (I was hungry), in the future I would definitely not order in store and probably wouldn’t get this again.

Having worked for DP Dough many years ago, it's great to see the company still doing well; upgrading the menu options while keeping all of the go-to zones. Let's Go DP Dough!

Manager sucks. You'd think working a job late in the day would make people chill a bit. Be sure to be on your best behavior when ordering or waiting.

Went inside to place my order I was in the area the girl said it would take 1 hour because they were busy it was 7pm. I noticed a man working the food prep area and seen him put a hand full of something in his mouth from the prep area. Thought that's odd he touched his face and mouth and continued working. I went outside to my car came back into the restaurant at 7:40 asked the same girl how much longer before my order was ready just checking in. Girl said it would be ready in 1 hour. At that point I asked to speak to the manager she pointed to the guy I seen putting food in his mouth from the prep area when I got there at 7. I asked him to come to the door way to talk maybe there was miscommunication or something the guy said "I'm to busy I don't have time " so I got my money back and left. I'm a older man not a college student when the students leave ous local people saport small restaurants like this maybe I should have not gone there and went to domino's pizza and got treated better and got food in a timely manner

Best calzones in town! But the wait is truly ridiculous. When I placed order online only, I was informed of a wait time of 40 minutes. When I got there I had to wait another 30 minutes to pick up my food. Y’all gotta hire more staff guys, I understand labor market is tight but it can’t be too tight if y’all raise your wages.
Waited an hour for my calzone.
