I recently found Dave's while searching my area of CT for a good deli. It's about 20 minutes from me,but well worth the drive! Good vegetarian options as well as non vegetarian options. This guy makes everything FRESH. Yes you will have to wait a few minutes for your order but nothing is frozen or pre-made. The dude was literally making our chicken and eggplant while we waited and you could tell just how fresh it was. The guy making our sandwiches, I'm guessing owns the place, was extremely friendly and chatty. I felt COVID safe there. The price is good for the amount of food you are getting. I would definitely recommend.

ummm so good i got a eggplant grinder w american cheese and mayo. it's soo good for no reason like definitely the best sandwich i've ever had. and believe me i've had many sandwiches but this. this is different.

First time and WILL NOT be the last....steak and cheese...added peppers, onion and mushroom...one of the best tasting! Also we had the chicken parm....portions, ingredients and bread were on point! Very friendly folks there as well.....nicely done!!!! Highly recommend!!

I think this is a first for me, I am writing this review less than 10 minutes after finishing the best chicken cutlet grinder I've ever had in my 43 years of life. I ordered a chicken cutlet with extra chicken, provalone, lettuce, tomato and onion. Hold the mayo and mustard. I sometimes hesitate to make special orders if I'm getting an order to go... nothing worse than getting home and finding out they got it wrong. Well, Dave got it right! Not only was the sandwich exactly as I ordered, it was double wrapped, in foil and paper, so even after a 25 minute drive back to Ellington it was still hot! The chicken cutlets are exactly like how my mom used to make her pork cutlets which I always loved having in a sandwich. But it's not nostalgia alone at work here... the cutlets were tender, breading delicate but flavorful and full of seasoning, veggies were fresh and crisp, and a light drizzle of italian oil was the perfect finishing touch. Great grinder roll, not too crusty nor too soft. I did get fries as well, which were pretty good but didn't really travel well. I recommend chips if you're travelling, save the fries for eating in or if you live nearby. Great service, great product, one of the best lunches I've had in a long time. Thanks Dave's Deli!

It was my first time here and this place was actually alright. The service and speed could've been better, I called my order in and when I got there I had to wait at least an extra 15-25 minutes for it to be ready. It seemed like they had only started making my sandwich while I was standing there. I also asked if they could combine the Chicken Parm with eggplant, and I assumed because it was chicken parm they would add cheese to it, but when I opened it there was none. The chicken cutlet was really good because it was thin, but the eggplant was basically non existent and it was all breading. The size of the grinder was good and I was full after eating half of it, but towards the end of the bread it was pretty solid and almost stale. I'll definitely try this place again, but make sure to order more clearly/differently.

Horribly high prices. Takes over an hour to get the food. Never go here in your life you will regret it. Once took over an hour and forty five minutes to make just a cold sandwich.

Went to Dave’s for the first time last week. Loved the atmosphere and the food! Had a Chicken Salad grinder and it was awesome! Everything was fresh and I liked Dave’s rational for cutting the deli meats to order. Great place to eat!!!
