We put in a birthday request, and it wasn't acknowledged. The hostess was on her phone. Our server was very distracted. The salad came out with our meal. Our check was dropped off at the table, and we waited at least 15 minutes for her to return. Definitely not the restaurant it used to be. We won't be back.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I read several great reviews so I’m guessing visiting on a Tuesday is not a good idea. It took very long for our food to arrive and the quality was not great. My chicken parmigiana was definitely over cooked to the extent it should not have been served and the pasta was not very saucy. My husband’s corn beef sandwich was pretty skimpy too. We were hungry so we ate it but I have definitely had much better parmigiana . This is our first time visiting Marlborough, CT and The restaurant was a disappointment.

Average, and that's about it...skip the fries, they're salted beyond being edible.

The food was amazing!!! The service was quick and our server was fantastic!!! Thanks Kelly for the best first-time Tavern experience. Even though it seemed like you were the only one working the bar and dining room, you were ON IT!! Hustling. And your smoked old-fashioned was “smokin’!!!!” 😉 Our overall dining experience was wonderful. We highly recommend!!
Haven’t been here in awhile but it was honestly just as great as last time. My dad had his wedding here right after the first big lockdown, and while we were a very tiny group, it was lovely. Just met with him here again this past week to chat and again it was wonderful. Food was amazing.

Whenever I am in Connecticut, I enjoy coming here. The young women at the front podium are always curteous and respectful. I usually get the chicken sandwich - I think it might be called something else, but it's very good. The only thing I would say is get more food options for picky eaters like me, but everything else is great. The old tavern atmosphere really pulls me in, and the bar area is great. I have not been there in a year, so hopefully, it hasn't changed. I may be a bit biased because I am a big pub food guy rather than a fancy restaurant.

I've been going to Marlborough Tavern for years. Best burgers around but their prices have gone up so much. It's a shame.
After some shopping in the area, my family and I visited Marlborough Tavern for an early dinner. They had a great variety on the menu and even some fun specials with it being St. Patrick’s weekend. Everything was delicious, and we especially loved their wings. Our server was friendly and attentive. The history of the restaurant paired well with our trip to Marlborough Barn beforehand, and we would definitely come back to do the same again!

Nice atmosphere of historical tavern. Very friendly staff and cocktail menu was great. I had a spicy margarita. The food was well prepared and very tasty! Will be back!
This is a very cool historic tavern with some great food options. I was very happy with the food and menu options. Service was decent, and the atmosphere is very nice, particularly in the historic parts. The fireplace and bar have a very warm vibe. A few more local draft craft beer options would be nice. But it’s a cool place. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

We made a reservation for Marlborough Tavern. We arrived and was seated immediately. To our surprise we got a table for two in front of the fireplace. It's was very nice. We ordered drinks and food. I got the Chicken Pot Pie and it was very good. My husband got the fish and chips also very good. The only issue we had with the food was the Cole slaw was too salty to eat. It could have just been a fluke since we never had the Cole slaw before this day. Amber, our waitress was kind and attentive.
I live locally. Couple towns over and have been becoming increasingly aggravated with the size regression of grinders in all the local grinder purveyors. A friend suggested Marlborough Tavern and I was pleased to say the least. Take out order. Fast and friendly start to finish out the door in 5 minutes. Good amount of meat. Bread was great. I’ll be back!!!
