We drove over an hour to try this restaurant and left disappointed. The food was mediocre at best, with no complimentary chips, salsa, or bread like we’ve experienced at other authentic Mexican restaurants. Pretty bad when the best-tasting part of the meal were the salsa and chips we had to pay extra for. Our group was fairly large, and everyone felt the same—it just wasn’t great. The staff we interacted with didn’t seem very attentive, portions were small, and the food lacked flavor. That’s just my personal experience, but I probably should have expected better than a casino dinner.

Too dark to even see food and music too loud to have a conversation. Food was subpar for Mexican.

Restaurant Review – A Disappointing Return Visit
I had fond memories of this restaurant from past visits, so I was looking forward to bringing friends here for dinner. Unfortunately, our recent experience fell short in several ways.
From the start, service was unusually slow. We waited over an hour for our food, checking twice — first with our waitress, who assured us it was “coming,” and then with the manager, who mentioned that groups had arrived at once, making it hard on the waitress, and that he would “go put the order in now.” This made us suspect our order may not have been entered initially. By the time the food arrived, I was ready to leave. For this wait, the manager offered a 10% discount. Still not worth it as the food wasn’t tasty.
My entrée, the Scorpion Classic Taco Dinner (three soft tacos, red rice, and black beans, LISTED at $16), was underwhelming. The tacos, rice, and beans were all bland, with the tacos and rice arriving cold. The chicken in the tacos tasted like pre-cooked meat that had been defrosted — cubed, watery, and lacking seasoning.
I was surprised to find a $6 upcharge for chicken, which wasn’t clearly indicated on the menu. The waitress explained that the base tacos would otherwise be “just lettuce and tomato,” which makes the $16 menu price confusing.
While my friends didn’t detail their own complaints, they also said their food wasn’t good. It felt like a combination of issues — a likely forgotten order, food that seemed pre-prepared rather than fresh, an unclear menu, and an overwhelmed staff.
I had chosen this restaurant based on how much I’d enjoyed it in the past, but sadly, this visit has changed my mind. I won’t be returning, and I hope management can address these service, communication, and quality concerns so future guests have a better experience.

My wife and I arrived at the Scorpion in Foxwoods Casino on August 2nd, 2025 between 6:45pm-6:50pm, and were seated by 7pm in the booth section . Upon being seated we realized that servers were walking around pouring water for guests and we had not received any water. When our waiter came over she asked if we wanted any drinks and food, so we ordered the following at around 7:10pm.
1 order of tostones
1 order of street corn
1 rice bowl w/steak
1 quinoa bowl w/steak
1 braised beef taco
We also ordered two drinks with our server, and they were brought out promptly, and after I finished my drink our server came over to ask me if I wanted another drink (shout out to her). After our server brought us drinks, a Caucasian family of six came in and ordered both appetizers and entrees. At 7:36pm we noticed our food had not come out yet and saw the party of 6 and other parties being served their entrees before us. At this point we did not receive one food item. Our waiter came over and stated that she checked in with the kitchen and the food will be coming out shortly.
At 7:40 our waitress came back over and explained how the kitchen staff was still working on our order and that our appetizers of street corn and Tostones should be about another couple of minutes.
At 7:45pm we were frustrated because we did not receive one food item, and felt discriminated against. When the server came back and stated the kitchen was willing to pay for our appetizers we disagreed and denied any further service. We stated that the kitchen can pay for the drinks and they agreed so we left the restaurant. We expressed our frustrations to the server and although we appreciate her support in the matter our overall experience with the restaurant was terrible.
As someone who services people on a day to day basis I understand “things” happen which may cause delays but, this wasn't the exception. We sat for more than 40 minutes without any food, and watched multiple parties arrive after us, eating both their appetizers & entrees. Although our server supported us through this time once again to shout out to her, we are disgusted with the service at the restaurant as a whole.
We were looking forward to eating at Scorpion in Foxwoods because we had been celebrating our one year wedding anniversary but, this experience felt like a punch to the gut. We do travel to foxwoods casino often and will not be returning to the establishment.
Bartenders and staff are very polite . It was our first time here, and the place was great. The drinks were well made, and the price was unbeatable
Said they stop serving food at 9:30 I came at 9 and kitchen was closed.

Really fun time on weekend night! Bartender was fun and the DJ played great music. We paid the cover abs didn’t expect to stay long and ended up being there for a few hours since the vibe was a lot of fun and much better than DK across the way.

This place needs to be shut down just due to the mens bathroom. The urinal has been removed. There is only a toilet! You'd think there would be a lock on the door with only one person being able to use the bathroom at a time. There was also urine everywhere was disgusting! As for the service, this scorpion bar is a low staffed which involves more waiting for service.

This place is beautiful. The food was really good too. The tacos were unique and there was a lot to choose from. The cocktails were fantastic. The scene is super cool too.

I have to say Scorpions is one of the best. We have come here every time we are at Foxwoods. We use to always get a specific burrito. They stopped having it on the menu.
My son emailed and they quickly responded saying they would make the burrito we always got. Sure enough we recently went and they made our burrito. Now that is customer service. We will always visit when we are at Foxwoods. I will always recommend Scorpions!
Our service was good! The atmosphere, great.
The food literally didn't taste fresh. My mistake for not speaking up, I should have. But to serve food that was basically cold and tasted like it was made hours before is a little insane. It was our whole table (5 people) that had food tasted like it was made hours before. They do cross contaminate, so don't trust them when they say they dont with specific foods containing gluten. We will not give this place another chance.

If you want to be disappointed... Then come here.. the food is terrible. I ordered the taquitos they were so greasy and disgusting it was terrible no flavor soaked in oil. And then I ordered the tacos, I had asked the waitress are they soft or hard tacos, she said they're soft... They showed up they were soaked in grease... Disgusting... One bite... All set. You can go to any food truck in any City that serves Mexican food and it's exponentially better than the garbage they put out.
Just as a follow-up I was there yesterday around 5:30 Friday. I would say there was maybe six people in the whole place. I remember thinking why is it so dead in here you walk through the casino and it's packed all of the other restaurants and bars have people and yet this one it was like a ghost town. The answer is the food's terrible.
