As a born and raised Meriden resident. I like to appreciate steamed cheeseburgers are native to Connecticut and that Kevin has made a successful franchise with respects to Ted's. I used to visit the bar that serve these same burgers I like the new taste the cheese blend. And how the business has grown. the employees are always warm . The location on East main is quick easy and always satisfying

All steamed CB's are good here in CT. But only a few are great. Lemay's are good.The roll is just a roll, meat is meat, the cheese is good but sparse (should be rolling off on to the plate) and in the tradition of one of the originals, Ted's, it should be on a buttered roll. No matter how bombed Ted was, every one got butter and a splash of hamburger juice.I could make the equivalent of lemay's at home on the stove with a pan of water and a grate.For $9.50 I expected a unique roll and lots of cheese.In today's dinning times, that's the price anywhere you go. It is still good but most younger people don't have anything to compare it to.

Tried for the first time and regret getting the cheese version because of the sharpness of the flavor WHICH may not be a problem for some people but I wish I had passed. I didn't like the high price either. $8.75 for a cheeseburger.

I'm sorry. I try to be understanding on the type of foods people eat in different parts of the country. That said, the steamed cheeseburger was the grossest thing I've eaten since college. The burger was the absolute worst consistency I've ever experienced and the cheese tasted rotten. The burger had a very strange and off putting flavor to it. I don't want to say that I was served something expired but it really tasted like it. Fries were decent but there were like 12 in an order.

We were recommended to go here by someone who comes here "at least once a week" We can't figure out what why he likes it so much. As my bf said, "this place sucked!" We both got a steamed cheeseburger and both agreed that the burger was too small for the bun. The type of bun was all wrong for a burger. The cheese was curdled. The cheese fries were the same. I really won't be returning.

Personally don't think it's worth the expensive money. My burger was not fully cooked and still red and found a strain of hair in my burger. I will not be returning... I think Ted's is way better!!!
