Idk what’s been going on with them because the fajitas are usually good but literally the last 3x I ordered from them I got these thick chewy rubbery pieces of steak. It doesn’t even taste grilled or have the grill lines it usally does. Just lazy and doesn’t taste good. Idk if they’re a new cook or what but for 20$ this is waste of money

This place is okay.
We are from the south and we have yet to find a good Mexican style restaurant here in ct.
The tacos are a 7/10 the tortillas are store bought. The tacos are double tortillas so
It fills you up faster. The meat is fresh. Steak, fajita, Pastor, Tripa, even the fish is grilled here. My husband likes their fish tacos, menudo and the tripa tacos are one of his favorites.
The pinto beans are fresh.
The Rice is not good at all. It tastes like plastic without seasoning. . That’s why the the 4 stars.
When we go as a family we just go for the tacos.
And their menudo. The staff speaks both English and Spanish. They welcome all but the kids need to be seated at all times. The food coming out is HOT.

The tacos were blah to be nice. Staff are awesome but the food well.
Let alone I love being met by somebody begging for money when I try to enter.

Hey, it's your girl, Honest Review. I took a trip to Meriden to visit Mr. Taco. The atmosphere is very chill. The customer service was on par. My first order was the chicken flautas. The presentation was good. However, the chicken was dry and flavorless, like no seasoning, I couldn't even eat it. The tortilla was super hard. I ended up trying half of one and placing a different order for reg steak tacos. The tacos were much better. However, the steak was a tad bit salty. I enjoyed it more than I did the flautas. I had a virgin margarita. My other orders were 2 chicken tacos with fries and a chicken burrito. If you're looking for Lalao, they've got that too😋
Customer service was super good. They were friendly, they were courteous.
So, 5 out of 5 for that. I would definitely visit again and give it another try. Check them out if you're in the area.

WORM IN FOOD.
PART 1: I never saw myself giving this place such a bad review but the experience I went through last time I was here was not something I ever expected.
3/29 around 4:10
Ordered the fried fish platter with rice and beans and the birria burrito. Everything was fine and we were eating our food when my fiancé started digging around the fish to get rid of the bones and he found something that looked very odd. He showed me and we came to the conclusion that it was either a worm or a parasite from the fish. We called over an employee to ask about it and when we first showed it to him his eyes widened and his initial reaction told us what we need to know - we were right about our thoughts on it. The employee took it to the back to show his boss.
Another waiter came to us and said he was going to take care of the situation because the manager was busy in the back with a lot of tickets. We said okay the other guy took it to the back if you want to take a look at it and tell us what that was. He went to the back and was gone for like 6-10 minutes and then was in a corner talking to other employees and eyeing our table. He didn’t come back to us until a different employee came to our table and we explained we were waiting for the other waiter.
He finally comes back and starts rambling on about how that must’ve been something that stayed in the fish when they cleaned it that wasn’t taken out properly and that “it’s out of their hands” because it comes like that from their supplier….
I said that I needed a clear explanation of what that was because we ate that fish. He said he didn’t know how to explain it and went to the back to grab someone. A few minutes later him and a lady (cook named Maria) come to our table. The lady was holding a 6 inch hotel pan with a RAW fish in it. She proceeded to place that pan on our table next to our BELONGINGS and our COOKED food. (she didn’t even have a hair net on). She then proceeded to show us the raw fish insides and was explaining how what we saw was a tender bone of the fish that doesn’t come out until the fish is fried. She also stated that we can put our trust and faith in her that that wasn’t a worm or parasite and that nothing will happen to us. We explained to her that my fiancé works in the culinary field and has worked at professional restaurants where he’s seen that and every time he had it was a parasite that looked just like it.

We explained that we understand the fish comes like that from the supplier but it is THEIR responsibility to properly clean it and take accountability when serving it. Instead of trying to make us look incompetent by whispering to each other in the corner and laughing/giggling while eyeing our table. We asked for the check multiple times because we were just trying to get out of there but they never proceeded to get it for us, they just kept rambling on about how it was not what we thought it was.

Continuation in different post because it’s too long.
