My 1st time tonight. 2pc fish n chips w/slaw and hushpuppies. I thought it was great. Fish was beautiful and fresh. Yes , it is an older place but it's a chippy ! That means fast fried food , not a posh snobby cafe. It's a perfect atmosphere FOR A CHIPPY and the owner lady was super nice and totally down to earth. I enjoyed eating by myself and the woman made me feel very welcome. I'll definitely be back !!!

I have no idea what the other reviews are on about! I was lucky enough to find this GEM of a restaurant! It's usually pretty quiet but I think you should try it!! They have tasty fish and boy do they fry it! Good portions, kind people and fair prices! I've lived on the CT shoreline my entire life and these are the fish filets I've been looking for!! Unbeatably classic!! I go after work and highly recommend it! Support local business and get your fry on! They have Stewart's Soda too! Yum!

I have scoured the darkest forests of New England to find authentic, British style, fish and chips. This place by far takes the cake not only in freshness and flavor, but in hospitality as well. I phoned in my order a bit late and arrived a little after closing. This woman waited for us to ensure that our meals were. She promptly dropped our fresh fillets of milky white cod fish into pristine, rolling oil. I took notice of the vintage looking bottles of malt vinegar, and knew right away that I was in the right place. At around 13 bucks, the price was right for 3 huge slabs of fresh cod fish, and a basket of perfectly crisped potato wedges. I would support these guys much more often if they were in New Haven. The distance between us could never discourage another quick trip to, Royal Fish and Chips. Judging by the amount that I am writing, it is obvious that this fine meal was rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Fried or not, cod fish is great for a quick brain quencher. ;)
