It. Was. Fantastic. Reasonable prices, excellent staff, and DELICIOUS.
Simply put: the best Ethiopian food I’ve had in a long time!! 10/10 - incredible flavor and just a wonderful restaurant experience!
Me and my fiancé were looking for places to eat and we’ve never had Ethiopian food before but we enjoy trying new things so we gave it a shot. It was the best choice we’ve made for a meal in a longgg time. So much flavor, it literally tasted like someone’s mom made it in their kitchen with love. When they brought it out, they explained to us how to properly eat everything as well. We’ll be back next week 😭💙 this meal healed our souls after a long work week.
This hidden gem in Middletown is delectable! Not only is the restaurant’s atmosphere very elegant and warm, but it is also very comfortable. The host was extremely kind and it was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. Thank you so much for the great experience! I can’t wait to come back.
We had a great time. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We order different appetizers, entrees and dessert. Our group loved all the food. Everything was delicious. I only took one picture of the basmati rice and chicken. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was great! Great food so check it out when you are in town!
Visited Middletown for a conference and had the pleasure of eating here! Attentive service and overall super pleasant and patient. Food was great and had good vegetarian options too !
My friend and I both adore Ethiopian food, and had been meaning to try this spot for ages due to glowing reviews from friends. We were disappointed with the amount of options they had but they were still tasty. The beets were my favorite. I don't recommend getting the timatim salad. We didn't realize it would just be a chopped up, out of season tomato with seasoning. Definitely not worth the $10 it was, or even $5. Staff was very friendly though and service was quick. Located in a nice spot with tons of parking.
The entire veggie sampler is vegan, the injera is amazing and each dish is expertly spiced. Misir wot and shiro wot were our favorites but everything was delicious.

If I could give "0" stars: I would. This restaurant serves nothing but frozen food they heat up. In one case, they served a potato somasa (Indian) claiming it is sambusa. This is an example where White Liberals give this place a 5 star only because it is minority owned and they think they are being cultural by coming here.
However, the kid admitted the rice was frozen--and he just heated it up in a microwave--and admitted the somasas came came from a pre-packaged product from Stop and Shop. Not that he needed to admit it, because I've literally purchased them at Stop and Shop and they were the exact same thing. The rice was literally frozen when it arrived at the table and hence, how I was able to figure it out.
Bottom line: the food was terrible. However, I can totally see White liberals eating here and saying it is "amazing" with their elitist attitudes thinking because it is in downtown and owned by Ethiopians it is the best thing ever. The food isn't authentic and honestly, I bet if this were White owned: it would have been shut down years ago.

Was craving Ethiopian food and found this gem. They were short staffed but the wait was totally worth it. The doro wat was amazing. Highly recommend this place.
Decided to come here again for my final meal being in this area. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Hartford area. Flavors are delectable. Try the honey wine too… so good.

We stopped here on a drive thru Connecticut and were so glad we did. The food was delicious and they had several vegan options. The owner was kind and generous. Restaurant was clean. I wish we lived closer - I would eat here all the time! Great place! Would give 5 stars if allowed for restaurants that aren't 100% veggie.
The food was delicious - super flavorful and fresh and the service was welcoming and friendly. I can’t wait to eat here again!
