I've been to Cafe 56 many times for their breakfast over the years, and it's always great.However, I want to RAVE about the take-out dinner I had tonight. After paddling a pirogue across the bayou to the shores of Cafe 56, I initially thought I had arrived at the right place at the wrong time because most of the assigned parking spots were taken. This hidden gem is the best breakfast place in Middletown, if not the whole state. The standard menu options are great, but I can't recommend the specials enough. Every bite is just loaded with flavor and you'll want whoever you're with to experience it's as well.
