We were passing through town on a family trip, and my wife & I decided to try this place of the many options downtown. We walked through the front door and had second thoughts as the main entrance dumps you into the (very loud) bar, but once we were seated it was much quieter.
We asked the waitress, Erin, a couple of questions about the menu and she didn't just answer them, she told us exactly what was in each wing sauce and rub we asked about, and then gave a descriptive flavor profile. It was pretty impressive how clearly knowledgeable she was. We ordered wings and a salad, and the fried pickle and pepper app.
When I say the food exceeded all expectations, that would be an understatement. This place looks almost like a dive, but the food was pure gastropub. The app came on a sheet pan and was easily enough for 4-6 people. The wings were perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the salad was first rate.
Not only would I visit again, I would go out of my way to dine here in the future, because we both regretted being too full to try anything with the house-made corned beef.
And I didn't even tell you how good the beer was!

Eli Cannons makes the very best chicken tenders I have ever had. My wife and I ordered food for football game time. My wife order a grilled cheese with brisket in it. She and I couldn't finish the huge servings. You need to bring your family here or order in. Eli Cannons is the G.O.A.T for all of your hunger wants!

This will forever be my favorite bar in Middletown because of the atmosphere, tune selection, variety of beers & friendly staff. Nashville wings are 10/10. Really great flavor and perfect amount of spice - the best wings in Middletown in my opinion. I also LOVE the spicy Caesar salad & I hope they never take it off the menu. Service is excellent, it always makes my night to see Eddie behind the bar!!

This review is for the food only, as we have only ever gotten delivery. The first time we ordered Eli's we got the Chicken Philly's, and they accidentally came wrapped (in a wrap) instead of on a hoagie, and they BLEW US AWAY. We've since ordered them on a hoagie, but now get them wrapped every time. It's packed full of juicy meat, peppers, and onions - and is heavenly. Everything we've had here (wings, reuben, apps, etc) is top notch, so we keep ordering.

The waitresses were super nice and the food was deliciously cooked pub fare. The place is definitely dumpy, but that's its character, and both the table and bathroom were clean, so it's probably dumpy by design.

We hosted a party yesterday afternoon into the evening. Erin was an amazing server extremely attentive and pleasant. She swept and cleaned up so diligently afterwards. The party planner Brianna was awful sorry to say. The communication with Brianna was so subpar and she was misinformed and told us inaccurate cost estimates, could only be reached through email and it took days to even communicate one simple thing. She quoted us more people than we told her were going to be there and did not fix the quote so we ended up paying for more people then were there. We almost cancelled the party as a result but I’m glad we didn’t because Erin the server/hostess was truly amazing and made it an excellent experience.

Came in here expecting greatness. Turned out I walked out of here fuller then ever. I got their new burger “the thanks giving burger” I gotta tell you one of the best burgers I had in Connecticut. I visited alot of restaurants this has to be top tear.
Save your money and time. Unless you want to get publicly humiliated. My friend and I were joining a few others for apps and wings. Two people at the table were drinking, my friend and I weren’t. We were told to move our seats when I asked for an explanation, as to why. The older gentleman (bouncer I believe ) yelled at us and told us to get out. I just want to understand why if 2 out of 5 people weren’t drinking why we couldn’t all still sit at a dinning table outside together? Completely understand if we were seated at a bar, or if we were underage. Two 26 year olds just tryna order some wings with friends turned into a very humiliating experience.
