If you have young kids, this is not the place for you. We have had two rough experiences now. First bad experience was last year. For some background, we have two young toddlers but are frequent brewery goers. When we went, the brewery was pretty dead. It was our family, and maybe 1 or 2 couples. At the time, our 2 year old loved the stools. So she was just weaving in and out of the stools at our table quietly. She occasionally was going through the bottoms, which we told her not to because we didn’t want her to get stuck. At one point, she laid on the floor mad. Instead of asking us to get our child off the floor, the one bartender/bar-back (unsure what role they were in), decided to come over and pick up our child off the floor within a matter of seconds. We didn’t even get the chance to pick her up. Picking up someone’s child, without permission or warning, was definitely uncalled for. But we decided that maybe it was just an off night so we would give it another chance this year. So last night, We walked in with our toddlers, and put our stuff down at a table and went to order. When we approached the bar, we were immediately told that we needed to keep our kids with us and under control at all times. We weren’t even in the room for a minute. And besides our family, there were 3 other people there.. While ordering, our kids noticed the lights along the bar, and were walking back and forth pointing at the lights. Mind you, they are 2 & 4, it was within an hour of closing time, and they stayed within arms reach of us. So keep in mind that it was only a minute ago he told us the first time to keep the kids with us and under control. We were then sternly told by the bartender something along the lines ofa “guys. I’m not gonna tell you again. You need to keep your kids with you and under control.” My husband and I were both BEYOND confused. Our kids were with us and literally were giggling. They weren’t screaming or running or anything. They’re literally toddlers enjoying the lights. We ended up staying a little over 30 minutes and it was a very uncomfortable experience to say the least. My husband and I both agreed that we will not be going back. And if you plan on visiting, I do not recommend you take children.

I will say I have always enjoyed their beer though. And the decor of the brewery is very nice. So it’s disappointing to not feel welcome.

Hidden gem a bit off the beaten path. Worth adventuring down to this brewery. Excellent beers, snacks, and friendly vibe. Definitely one of my CT favorites. Consistently great brews!

This place is great. The beers are excellent and it's a cool intimate space. I've been a few times and they run specials on different brews and offer seasonal varieties. Some food trucks rotate outside, but you can bring your own food. It feels like a real local place and very welcoming, and the lass they have behind the bar on Thursdays is wonderful!

I could not recommend Forest City Brewing more.

I hosted a private party here for about 30 people to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday. It was our first time visiting Forest City Brewing and it was a phenomenal experience every step of the way.

Chris is a great guy, and he made the whole process easy and fun. He was prompt in getting us a quote, helped set up decorations the day of, and was just a consistently kind, fun, laid back, and helpful presence throughout the whole party.

The beers were delicious - my personal favorites were their EXP 7 IPA and John Beere Kolsh. The Disco Lemonade was also a hit during the party. It's a family business and it's clear how much love & passion they pour into their brewing & their business.

We were able to bring our own pizza & desserts for the event, which we enjoyed alongside the beer. They have board games, cornhole, a Switch, TV, and tunes on standby which made things even easier - everyone especially loved playing Mario Kart.

We made amazing memories here and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area!

I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a casual brew and good times, or hosting their own party too. Cheers! ?

Forest City Brewing delivers some of the best traditional-style beers with a unique twist. The Czech Your Head Pilsner has been a refreshing summer favorite, while the Blaubeere Sour Ale is a crisp, blueberry-forward delight. The Brown Cow Chocolate Milk Stout is rich and spot-on! Every brew I've tried has been exceptionally well-crafted and delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality, flavorful beers!

Nice local brewery. We really enjoyed their beer infused with sparkling lemonade. We liked their cloud IPA better than the stargazer, but both were very good. They serve food and fill growlers but we only had a couple of flights. There were a lot of sour beers on the menu, which is not my thing but if you like them they seem nice.

Great taproom! They make their own gf hard seltzer, new flavors frequently. Not grocery store hard seltzer! This is so good, with a slight sweetness and new flavors all the time. Also, gf snacks! A comfy neighborhood atmosphere.
