The food was terrible. The crab rangoon was burnt and opened on the sides and there wasn't any stuffing in it. The shrimp toast was burnt ridiculously. The menu on line is deceiving. The prices are very old and they don't list pint or quart. So for one person I paid top dollar for quart size of everything. I never would've order all that.. The chicken lo mein was hideous large onions loads of old noodles and one piece of mushroom along with old tuff chicken. Won ton soup was disgustingly old and very dark. My advice is go somewhere else. THIS PLACE SUCKS

Okay let me just start by saying I only gave one star because I had to in order to leave a review because they wouldn’t have even got that please people listen don’t do it please take my advice I read peoples reviews and said let me give them a chance they are older reviews I’m sitting on my couch my stomach hurts o just wasted $40 dolls to be exact omg the rice tasted like butter mastery rice like make that make sense the meat lord I don’t no what I just ate the broccoli was soft and mushy I pray I don’t get sick my stomach already hurts I just ate like 7 bites just now they were really nice but there food was really bad if you don’t take he to my review and you do order just no I told you DONT ORDER HERE !!!! I am appalled at how gross mine you I do t even do reviews it it was yes that bad to were I felt I needed to try and save others from making the mistake of ordering there food like I don’t even no what else to say right now 😵💫😬

The interior is quite old but it's my favorite Chinese restaurant in Middletown. Their General Tso's Chicken is the best and the staff all speak great English. It is definitely takeout only though.

I have been coming to Hau Po for over 10 years. This is a family owned business that has consistently made great food compared to their competitors! I don’t live in Middletown anymore but I make special trips back just to grab my favorite dishes on the way home.
I used to love this place as a child best Chinese food in town. I just recently started ordering from them again and the food hasn’t tasted the same. I just opened the ribs well done and pork fried rice. And ice tea. Next thing I know ended up in the hospital with the bug. But I believe it was food poisoning. The last time I ordered chicken wings and rice and had to throw it away because the chicken wings looked old and rice was hard. I’m very disappointed because I used to love this place. But after this last experience I will never eat Chinese food again.

55 minutes for a $120 order. Was told " a couple more minutes" at the pickup time and waited 30 more minutes. Chicken stuck together and still raw. When I asked if anything could be done about the wait, I was offered deep fried Pillsbury tube bread and an additional 5 minute wait. Will never return, no attempt at recovery on the online survey either.

First let me say, growing up this was my favorite Chinese restaurant. Me and my family would order from here every Thursday. This was the best and most popular Chinese food in Middletown for years. The last few years it has been the worst. I gave this restaurant 3 chances before I finally said “never again”! All 3 times were delivery. I had to call them every time because I was waiting over 40-50mins (they told me 15-20) when they live 5mins away!!! Literally around the corner! Food was cold, rice was hard and the last time the food was just disgusting. All 3 times the lady offered to bring me back a new order (very nice lady btw) each time it wasn’t better. I waited a while to order the last time thinking, it’s been over a year since I had their food, might be better. NOPE! Still bad

I ordered wings and pork fried rice for my first time trying and also a snapple. the rice tasted hard and like it was days old, the chicken was mushy and covered in grease, and my snapple was 4 months expired, i had to throw out the whole meal everything was old and reheated. I requested a refund and they told me to bring back the meal, mind you it was the next day. Never would recommend to anyone the place is dirty, everything left out on the floor and the fridge for the sodas and drinks is covered in white stuff. definetly needs to get shut down.

Hands down the worst Chinese food around Middletown. The beef on a stick was raw- picture attached. The lo Mein was nasty, spongy & the lettuce inside the lo mein was sandy. I never spit out food before but I couldn’t stomach this food. The lady came straight from a delivery, and prepared our food without washing her hands after touching her face/nose. I should have known based off the inside of the restaurant that the food was going to be terrible. It’s so dirty in there- idk how they even pass health inspection. I just paid $60 to throw it all in the garbage. Don’t waste your money…
