We visited here with new friends prior to their wedding day. Originally, we were supposed to meet at another restaurant, but that place couldn’t accommodate our reservation. I’m so glad we went here instead! The atmosphere, service, and food were worthy of 10 stars! We were greeted instantly, served quickly, and met with appreciation of our patronage to their restaurant. I’d definitely visit here again if in the area.

Greaaat food, even for vegetarians. I loved the rolls and the sukiyaki soup! We were starving, so no photos of those, but the dessert was good too! Happy with our choice tonight!

This was rough. It’s was our one day off and I’m the one who pushed for this place. We asked for extra sauce, didn’t get it. & the steak and chicken were so overcooked it was hard to chew. My fiancé & I were so disappointed we could barely eat what we ordered. I instantly have such a bad stomachache. Our dinner at home was ruined. This will be the last time we order here.

Atmosphere is awesome! The only problem was a basementy smell (it want that bad) and the choice of music was subpar according to me and the 2 other people I brought. Food was great.

TERRIBLE customer service. The person taking my order practically hung up on me mid sentence, and of course they got it wrong. I got 3 orders of maki and they only gave me enough ginger for one order. The food is very average nothing special at all. The only reason I came was because Hachi is closed today; but Hachi is really the only good sushi place in town. Judging from the last few reviews this place needs to get it together fast.

Been coming for 20 years... Its been a couple...the clasic dressing has changed... One of the rolls tasted stale and one tasted like flowers... It was really unfortunate i was looking forward to being in the area to pick some up... It was a miss this time :(

Mikado used to be great years ago but our recent few visits we’ve noticed the quality of food and service going down. This past visit with our two children has pretty much put the nail in the coffin that we will not be returning, especially when great sushi places like Niuda are so close by. Our waitress stopped by our table a total of zero times during our meal, she passed by us many times but never asked if we needed drink refills or if the food was okay, she only stopped once we were clearly done eating. We ordered plain yakisoba for the kids and it came out packed with cabbage so the kids hardly ate any. The waitress also seemed very confused and put off that we asked if it was possible to order a small thing of chicken katsu. My chicken dish was advertised to come with vegetables but came out with two pieces of barely cooked broccoli, one slice of carrot, and a bunch of uncooked onion and bell peppers. Not sure what happened to this place but it’s super disappointing.
We got our order to go and the shrimp tempura was old looking, small, and dried out. It was awful. So upset for the amount of money we paid!

The food is absolutely fantastic. I get the seafood Habachi. It's a monthly treat for myself!! The food tastes fresh and individually made, not processed in bulk.
This place is awful never order this I’m a Japanese exchange student studying in the US and this place puts a shame to my hometown heritage.
Their food is awesome! Service was also great, though I got takeout. I've been here almost every time I have gone to Middletown, and it has always been worth it!
Mikado is an established piece of Middletown history. I have been going to eat there for over 20years. I started brining my kids when they were infants, and now they both love sushi @ 10 and 12! The menu reads like a book, and its all decent quality. The atmosphere and the decor are always on point. Sushi and Sashimi specials are the way to go. We love the Sweet Heart roll, gotta get the eddamame, nigiri or yakortori as all are good starters. Their lunch specials with 2 roll combos including soup or salad are an amazing deal. Whats not to love?
