Italian Pastry Heaven!
I’ve never tasted more bland & worse pasteries than every branch of this so called bakery. Their workers have the worst kind of attitude & their pastries taste doughy & dry - do not recommend!
Decided to stop at Mozzicato Pastry Shop on the way to a family get together because Libby's was too far out of the way. My favorite pastry is chocolate custard Pasticiotti pies and I know what a good one is supposed to taste like, and I assure you, the custard is not supposed to pull out of the crust like one gummy hockey puck like in the attached pic. I won't even go into what I paid for the all pastries I bought that day. Won't be going there again.
The smell alone, when you walk in, is amazing. Such a large selection of cookies and pastries and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There's something for everyone here.
Such a shame this bakery is selling old, stale pasty at high end bakery prices. Gave this bakery a few try’s but today we purchase several different pastries which were all stale and old. Staff should know what they are selling! Lower your prices if you are going to continue selling old products.
I love their cakes. I've made an emergency order for a cake in the morning, and they made it for me by 3 pm. I'm sure that's not a common practice, but the fact they did it was awesome. They are my go to place.
I have ordered a few cakes from them, and they are so nice.
Delicious tray of Italian cookies . $50
Do not expect urgency. They don’t move fast at all. Great customer service. Happy and cheerful, but don’t expect to get out of there in a reasonable amount of time. 1.5 hours for 6 cannolis.
I placed a pickup order for a small cake last week and came in to pick it up tonight. The line was long and moving slowly, which I didn’t mind. However, there was no clearly marked area for pickups, so I waited in line for about 10 to 15 minutes, unsure of where to go. Eventually, I saw a DoorDash driver skip the line and get his order at the side counter, so I followed suit, thinking that must be where pickups are handled.
The employee assisting him, who had been packing up another order, paused what she was doing to help him, then continued her task. I stood a couple of feet away from her on the other side of the counter, clearly visible, and yet she avoided all eye contact with me for another 5 to 10 minutes. She was very slowly checking off items and packing a box, and when she finally finished, she turned her back to me and deliberately asked “Who’s next?” while walking around me to help someone else.
At that point, I started to speak up, but her coworker, who was incredibly friendly, immediately noticed what was going on and stepped in to help me without hesitation.
To the employee who helped me, thank you for your professionalism. As for the employee who ignored me (she had black hair, glasses, and was wearing bunny ears), I hope this is used as a reminder that customer service starts with basic courtesy. Acknowledge people who are waiting, especially when they’ve been standing right in front of you patiently.
My suggestions:
1. Please create a clearly marked pickup area so people don’t waste time waiting in line for an order that’s already prepared.
2. A refresher on basic customer service for staff would go a long way.
This was a disappointing experience that could have been avoided with just a little more attention and communication.
Rocky hill location just not good pastries were old and not made properly .

The woman who was at the counter that waited on me was very rude for no reason. Made me feel like I was unwelcome and bothering her. I was the only customer there.
April 7th around 2:30 pm
Nice Italian bakery, but plan to spend top dollar
Old school Italian bakery good but pricey
Delicious and a big selection of pastry
On February 13, 2025, a cake was purchased for a same-day birthday celebration. The cake was deemed unsatisfactory by all attendees, who rejected it after a single bite.
A return was attempted on February 15, 2025, but a refund was refused due to the owner's unavailability. The manager lacked the authority to process the refund, and the owner's off-site meeting was deemed too important to interrupt.
The store requested my credit card information to process a refund after owner verification of the cake's defect, despite the manager acknowledging a discrepancy with the product. I paid cash for the item and do not feel comfortable leaving my credit card information laying around on a scrap piece of paper to be used by anyone.
Following a purported text message exchange between the owner and manager owner, who allegedly refused direct communication, I provided my contact information and await a return call within two hours.
This is not the same mazicato Bakery of years past. Horrible customer service!!
