The deli staff are very nice and know their products. Extremely professional. Products are very good. Very fair prices. The good experience ends at check out.The cashier they employ is very rude and extremely unprofessional. Maybe, put your phone down for a minute to wait on customers. I recommend this market if your going thru a 3rd party for cashing out. Example grub hub etc.The in store experience of cash out is awful.I don't intend to shop further in this market for this reason.Sad, because there are so many professional nice people that would benefit from this cashier position and would actually care about customer service.

God, what can I say about Public Market... I have been coming here since I was about five years old when the original owner John was still around and he was the nicest guy, always treated his customers with respect and loved my grandfather, now time has passed and John and my grandfather have both passed but that same familial feeling I get when I walk into public market remains, the staff are friendly and enjoy making conversation, the owner is a nice guy and upholds the Italian deli market to the same standard John did before him. This is a deli that I go to at least three days a week for lunch simply because the atmosphere in here is just the best, not to mention the food is always fresh and oh my god their Mac and cheese trust me if you like Mac and cheese this is easily the best Mac and cheese in middletown you will ever find

I used to go here all the time but when I went today it wasn't good at all. Got a grinder and the pepperoni on it wasnt even peeled back before it was sliced so every slice had the packaging around it. The guy making the ginder didnt even put everything we had wanted on it even after asking several times. I'm sorry that I sound rude and all I know how it is in the food business nowadays but we had been the only ones in there and didnt even ask for alot only one ginder with pepperoni, ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese peppers , pickles ,mayo and mustard . we didnt get the tomatoes , no mustard, the peppers was only pepper skins and two literally two pickles. Normally it takes a few minutes for our ginder it took over ten minutes to get one grinder. Again sorry if its rude but still it wasnt even worth the wait.

Trying to follow a zero waste lifestyle can be difficult especially when grocery shopping and trying to support local shops at the same time. I was thrilled to know that they allowed me to bring my own reusable containers to purchase my sandwich meat & cheese, their delicious chicken cutlets fit perfectly in my stainless steel bento box and I was able to purchase bread and they placed it in my canvas bags. Thank you for allowing this!!

Stopped in for a grinder for lunch, and I’m glad I did. I got a chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with smiles. While I was waiting I looked around and I was very impressed with the food case, everything looked so fresh and delicious. The whole store looked very clean and organized. If you want some great food drop in and see for yourself.
