As of early 2021 Qawa seems to be permanently closed and out of business, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. :-(

This place is amazing! However, about a month ago, it was suddenly not open! Oh no! What happened?

Just found this place today. I was extremely behind on school and I had the day off. This is a cute coffee shop that is very clean. The staff are very friendly and I was able to camp out all day and do homework until they closed. The WiFi is great, the food is delicious and it’s just a friendly environment. I drove 25 minutes to get here and I will certainly be coming back when I have more days off

The absolute best Yemeni latte and so many other great seasonal options. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. This is definitely one of my favorite coffeeshops in CT!!

Great service, beverages and specialty meals. My co-coworkers and I walk over from the hospital quite often. The coffee and tea beverages are delicious. I decided to try one of their pick up special meals last month. My partner is of Middle Eastern decent and we often cook food from that area. It was awesome to pick up some of the Yemeni food. It was super delish. The curbside pick up was flawless. The baklava was amazing not that Greek style stuff but had pistachios and didn’t have that sickly sweet honey flavor. Highly recommend this for everyone. The mint lime aide was great too.

The gem of Main Street! Craft coffee & an eclectic menu, everything tasted just as good as it looked. I ordered the chai latte with oat milk & it was balanced, creamy, & not too sweet | Paired with the za’atar croissant which is flaky, buttery, tangy goodness with the perfect crunch. Friendly staff & cozy atmosphere (free wifi). Indoor ordering & seating now available with social distancing. Highly recommend!

It is really good place, and the people in there are nice, they serve food with open heart and beautiful smile in their face. It was a wonderful experience so far. I would really recommend that to anyone. Try the avocado toast and yemeni latte

Qawa is, hands down, my favorite part about Middletown. The staff are so incredibly kind, and the cappuccino is the best for miles. If you want good coffee, awesome people, and a chill vibe, this is the place to be.

Absolutely loved this place. Even though they only have outdoor seating right now due to COVID, they are serving amazing coffee drinks, pastries and desserts with ample outdoor seating. There’s attention to detail in this shop, from the drink flavors to the decor and staff friendliness. The Yemeni coffee is a must try. Definitely grab some to go if you’re passing by.

My colleague brought to my attention a wonderful opportunity that Qawa Coffee is offering called the "Qawa Kitchen Initiative". This service offered during phase 1 and phase 2 of Connecticut's Covid-19 restriction allows patrons the opportunity to experience an authentic Yemeni dinner, while also giving back to the war-torn nation of Yemen. For $25 per person, the Qawa Kitchen Initiative will provide Samoas, a Yemeni house salad, hummus, lamb or chicken Haneeth, Basmati rice, pita bread, Mint Limeade, and a sweet dessert known as "Khaliyat Al Nahal". If the food doesn't make you feel good, then what your money is going towards certainly will. Qawa Coffee is donating 100% of its proceeds to Yemen Aid, an organization that seeks to aid those families in Yemen who are suffering from food insecurity. I would just like to thank a local Connecticut business for giving back to the world in such a positive way and I encourage everyone to help contribute!

This is a very nice little coffee shop! The barista was kind, laid back, and he made suggestions for me since it was my first time visiting. My latte was delicious, and I think it was reasonably priced, comparable to other similar coffee shops ($4.50 for my latte). The interior design is beautiful: very chic, polished, and minimalistic. It is very bright, gets a lot of natural sunlight in the day, which I am a fan of. Temperature is comfortable, not too cold or warm. There are outlets for charging devices, and free wifi. The wifi seemed a bit spotty, but that may have just been my device.
