Went to tates after a 5k race and the service and food were outstanding, drinks were delicious and creative. It is centrally located in CT and we are looking forward to getting together for a Friendsgiving this week with those all over the state, highly recommend checking it out!!

I went with a large group for Tates first brunch on Sunday and nobody had a bad word to say. The drinks were great and so was the food! The service was top notch and I never felt like we weren’t taken care of even on a busy Sunday morning. Definitely the new go to brunch spot in Middletown!

Food is absolutely amazing love the big portions and the price is phenomenal the service is great kindness and friendly and the atmosphere is amazing like the service is we always sit outside the heaters they add are amazing for the weather you don't need to bundle up here! Highly recommended A+++++

I was excited to try this place because of their Instagram and the patio. I went on a nice, sunny day and it was packed inside and out. There was no wait time, which was nice. Drinks were pretty good, not too stiff. The food was pretty disappointing. I got the eggrolls which I was most excited for and it was so bland and I didn't really taste the shrimp and crab. I mostly tasted unseasoned cabbage. I also got the whole belly clams which were pretty good, fries were a bit lacking and I expected more for $29. I do recommend the tuna nachos.

I had a watermelon margarita and the Gorgonzola steak. They were delicious! Will definitely come back again for that reason but our server was awful. I’d tell you his name but he never shared it and it wasn’t on the receipt. We had no issues at all during our visit but the server had a really bad attitude towards us.

Went during the summer and sat outside. It was quiet and perfect to enjoy the water view and sunshine. The food was okay- nothing spectacular. Probably something that I could get anywhere else that it’s offered. The lobster roll was a little dry but tasted okay. The cocktails were pretty good. They were pretty busy so we had to wait a bit for service but everyone was friendly and it was such a nice sunny day so waiting wasn’t a big problem.

Sat at a small table and they said no service at that table, so I said ok I’ll order at the bar. Then at the bar they said I couldn’t take any food to that table it was their policy. Stupid policy it was the only table available. They need to reconsider their stupid policy.
Had a great lunch here. Anthony was our waiter according to the check. Super attentive and accommodating. Will be back!

I had some time in between an appointment and a meetup yesterday, so I stopped in for a small meal and a drink. Bryan, the waiter was the best! Very kind and attentive. I ordered the ahi tuna nachos and it was incredible! The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was quick! I sat on the back patio and had the most amazing view of the Connecticut River. The experience made my day.

I wanted to share my recent experience at Tate’s, as I had been looking forward to dining there since moving to the area three months ago.
While I appreciated the warm welcome from the host and found the appetizers delicious, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service. Our server, who seemed overwhelmed, was unable to recommend anything off the menu and later neglected our table for an extended period. We noticed that other tables who arrived after us received their meals and refills while we waited, which left us feeling ignored.
When we finally received our entrees, the server’s attitude was concerning. So we decided to address our concerns with a manager. As we are doing so , he walks over becoming defensive and aggressive. He states, he is not walking away because we are speaking about him. Which made the situation uncomfortable for my family, especially with a toddler present. Manager should have requested for the server to attend to his other tables, instead of being confrontational.
Ultimately, we chose to leave before finishing our meals, feeling that the service did not meet the standards we expected. I hope this feedback helps you address these issues for future guests, as I genuinely wanted to enjoy my experience at Tate.
