We were looking for a place to have a light supper and stumbled across this bistro. We decided to share four tapas, the artichokes, the cauliflower, the snails, the cod croquettes and a dessert. Perfect amount of food all cooked to perfection. A very friendly atmosphere and excellent service made for a delightful experience. We will be back
Ate here on a Saturday night, it was amazing! Food/wine/dessert were all fantastic, ate outside in this narrow vine covered passage that made us feel like we had gone through a portal to Spain or France. Definitely going on our list of favorites!

Honestly, much preferred when Bistro Basque and El Barrio were separate restaurants. The individual menus were more robust and each had a unique vibe. Now I feel like this place doesn’t know what it wants to be.
I get why the owner combined the 2 for Covid but to keep it that way long after Covid is just odd. To save money on front of house? I think it is hurting their business. You walk in and it’s unclear where you’ll sit etc. One entrance usually blocked.
Don’t get me wrong, food is still solid. But again I miss the full menus and the vibe of each place. Hopefully the owner brings that back. I know they’re busy with construction in building now.

This is a jewel of a restaurant. Food was top notch. I only wish that the entry, which is through the restaurant next door, was more clearly marked.

Lovely experience! Excellent food, very attentive service, and even got to hang out with a Basque gentleman. I'll come back next time we're in town!

It’s no longer Bistro Basque. It’s combined with El Barrio next door so the menu is a combination of both. It’s lost its vibe. The food and service was okay
I’m an out of towner who had enjoyed this restaurant in the past but hadn’t been in a while. I’m happy to report it is still great. I had the best mojito which was distinguished by having extra lime juice. The guacamole was exceptional. My main course was an excellent shrimp in a sophisticated reduction sauce. For dessert, the chocolate mousse in a hard chocolate shell was super.
This restaurant has the Best Rack of lamb anywhere. It comes with bread, fresh vegetables and potatoes au gratin. Every time we go there my wife and I order th Rack of lamb. You will dip your bread in the juices on the plate. What a incredible meal. The servers there are friendly and professional. You wont be disappointed.
Great all around

Whether it's tapas and drinks or a full meal, absolutely love this place. Their "Horse & Buggy" cocktail with a splash of Pernods is fantastic. The champignons are amazing.

For me this is the best tapas place in Connecticut. Pulpo, when they have it, is the best I've ever tried outside Spain, too bad they don't always have it.
The food is very good and the service is amazing. We've been there a few times with my work colleagues and we always have a very nice experience.

This place is a must go- the food here is amazing, everything I have had has a depth of flavor and I am always left satisfied. My favorite is the Monkfish Stew, which has an incredible balance of fresh seafood with a savory scalloped potato & tomato base, I crave it constantly!! Ambience is so inviting and comfortable it’s hard to not want to stay multiple hours, not to mention the owner & staff is also so wonderful, always helpful and kind, further adding to the whole experience!
