The food is very good and the service is amazing. We've been there a few times with my work colleagues and we always have a very nice experience.

This place is a must go- the food here is amazing, everything I have had has a depth of flavor and I am always left satisfied. My favorite is the Monkfish Stew, which has an incredible balance of fresh seafood with a savory scalloped potato & tomato base, I crave it constantly!! Ambience is so inviting and comfortable it’s hard to not want to stay multiple hours, not to mention the owner & staff is also so wonderful, always helpful and kind, further adding to the whole experience!

This was an underwhelming visit. I had dinner here with a friend. When we first arrived, we were over attended to while we decided from the many delicious looking options on their menu. We ordered drinks and a chips and guac to munch on while we decided on dinner. The drinks were tasty, though strong! The chips and guac were disappointingly bland and under seasoned. Everything else was delicious. I got the paquetitos de tinga (the best thing I ate by far!) and the croquetas de bacalo. My friend loved her vegetarian tacos - described them as flavorful and tasty with the perfect amount of spice. The reason for the 3 stars is that after we finished dinner, we were offered a dessert menu and said yes, but waited a long time and didn't get it! Then it took ages just to flag the wait staff down to pay our check! I have to say with so many other quality options in the area, I probably won't return.

Never had a bad experience here. It's a cozy atmosphere with great tapas. Never disappoints so much so we hosted a luncheon for over 30 people. Paulina, Porsha and the entire team made sure all my guests were taken care of and our day was a memorable one.

Milford Center has its fair share of good restaurants but Bistro Basque takes the silver medal for great hospitality, ambiance, creative tapas & interesting specials. It's not quite like being in a popular Madrid wine bar but it's close enough ( alas, no grilled fresh sardines ). The owner is often present & cheerfully visits tables to inquire on his patrons satisfaction even when it's slamming busy. Patio service is open in fair weather & while it can get a little cramped in there on busy nights, it's still a pleasant & cool space that's out of the hot sun. Most recently our table shared garlic shrimp & a sublime artichoke small plate. They ran out of the skate special the evening we dined so we enjoyed the mahi-mahi instead. Reservations advised for Friday & Saturday evening.

We had a party of 14 people. Everything was excellent from our calling about a large party through our meal! This is our goto place in Milford!

I attended a medical dinner here, so the menu was a little of everything. It was wonderful. We did not get to order, dishes were simply brought out to us. The seafood was fresh and wonderful. The chicken was moist and well-seasoned. The beef was savory. The flavors were incredible. All the tapas that came out were amazing. I wish I had names, but please trust, it was really a delightful meal.

We dined outside in a European-style courtyard. Service was extraordinarily professional and personable all at once, an unusual combination. We had tapas, all of which were delicious beyond description, and expertly made, (tequila/mezcal based)strong pour cocktails.Only downside, literally no parking, even at 6 p.m. Go around the corner to the right and there's a side street with a mini mall parking lot, 3 minute walk away. If you're vacationing, it's worth an Uber to avoid traffic etc

I have always heard about Bistro Basque in Milford and finally dined there this evening… What a treat! From the friendly greeting when we arrived to the delicious ending desert… the experience was amazing! Our cocktails were perfect…then two tapas(peppers stuffed with short ribs and sweet potato croquettes with goat cheese)… Entrees we did were monkfish seafood stew and Skate fish special. Both to die for! The monkfish seafood stew came to the table bubbling in a delicious tomato broth over a thin layer of scalloped potatoes and loaded with seafood and monk fish. During our dining experience the most delightful owner check in with us with some recommendations that did not disappoint…. If I could give 10 stars I would…you must go!

Not good. We use to frequent here years ago and the food was AMAZING ~ like the BEST we've ever had. Came back 1 month ago and it was just ok. Tonight we came in on a Friday ~ tables are really close together ~ NYC style and it wasn't that busy. It was hot and humid inside and it's still April. Food was just ok. Service felt super rushed. And the food wasn't great. Very small wine list (years ago it was massive with great wines). Waiter kept pushing us along as to turn the table but clearly no reservations were behind us. Just wouldn't ever come back unfortunately. This use to be a very busy, special and unique restaurant and now it blends in to the background. So many other choices within a few miles for a night out. This place will not last unless they make significant changes. Tapas were subpar ~ tapas are small in general, but these were very very small. For a Spanish themed restaurant there isn't complimentary olives and cheese. In fact, no olives at all. The meals we had were a chicken dish which had too much sauce, tacos which were tiny, signature dish is paella which tasted like it was made days ago and very dry. Desserts were unimpressive and wine list leaves a lot to be desired. Spain has amazing wines, they're just not here. Skip it and go to New Haven.
