We stopped at Monty’s River Grille in Milford before leaving town, and it ended up being the perfect way to wrap up our trip. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a beautiful view of the golf course that makes the whole dining experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
We came for lunch with the family, and everything we ordered was excellent. I had the French onion soup and the bang bang shrimp, and both were absolutely delicious—flavorful, hearty, and super filling. You could really tell that care went into the food. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals just as much, and everyone left happy and satisfied.
On top of the great food, the service was amazing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It was just one of those meals where everything came together—the food, the view, and the service.
I’d definitely recommend Monty’s River Grille if you’re in the Milford area, whether you’re looking for a nice family lunch or just a spot to relax with great food and a beautiful setting.

My husband and I are not members of Great River, however we were able to make a reservation for the onsite restaurant. The ambiance was gorgeous, overlooking the golf course and I was extremely pleased with our entrees. I ordered a chicken dish and my husband the steak special. The service was also exceptional. I can’t wait to return!

We have eaten lunch at Monty's numerous times and it is amazingly delicious - as well as the service being perfect! From the onion soup to the steak, you can't go wrong. I would say the only flaw is in Monty's salad which should really be revised. The shaved butternut squash is really a few ribbons of a tasteless vegetable. Now if you roasted the squash that would add a totally different texture and enhance the salad. I now know not to order that one item. Everything else is perfection. And don't miss out on their desserts - yum!

Dining Room is a work of art, vaulted ceilings like a cathedral over a long corridor of tables, yet not loud like many places with high ceilings. Bar area is equally impressive. Lunch was a perfectly built Bacon Blue Cheeseburger on toasted roll served by very attentive waitress. Very glad I tried it today.

There was nothing specifically wrong with the food. It was just boring. The highlight of the meal was the sauce and fried olives that came with the calamari. My filet mignon was supposed to be very rare and it was medium at best. The onion soup was missing the toast under the melted cheese. The baked potato did not include butter or sour cream. There was a wedding next door, so it was probably a bit noisier than usual. The restaurant was not busy, but my drinks took forever to arrive.
My wife and I were out on the patio in the corner—we only eat outside due to my compromised immune system. Two thumbs up all the way around. We have had meals from the lunch, pub, and dinner menus and have never been disappointed by the food. The views are lovely: of the golf course and the river and hills beyond that. The only “negative” aspect is that sometimes it can take a while to get your food. But otherwise the service is always very friendly.

Monty's is one of our favorites.....especially in the nice weather with their lovely deck! Unfortunately, the service is not their strong point! We waited an HOUR with no food! We finally asked for some bread and got it! Drinks did come promptly. But we ordered "casual food"......not something complex! So it's hard to understand??
