Pollo a la Brasa Pikkos Peruvian Cuisine is a take out only restaurant located in a cute little hole in the wall of an older strip mall with ample parking. It offers some outdoor seating at two tables. The pollo a la brasa, or whole roasted chicken, is the standout dish, described as the best in Fairfield county. The chicken is incredibly moist and juicy with wonderful, crispy skin and is bone-sucking good. Portions are huge.
Sides include flavorful Peruvian rice, fried rice packed with flavor that some would not replace, French fries, and a spicy sauce that is a great mix with the food. The steak pepper and onions and the tallarín saltado are also noted as solid and delicious. Other dishes like the lomo and arroz chaufa received mixed reviews. Weekends offer empanadas.
Service is good with great customer service, though ordering can be awkward with only one menu at the counter. Ordering ahead is seamless. The quality and flavor far exceed grocery store alternatives, making it a must try.
