Scratch is exceptional, one of the best local bakeries, if not the best, you’ll find in the Milford area. I love to frequent this place as much as possible, with its large selection of baked goods and a great cup of coffee, you can’t beat it. Check out Scratch today!

Scratch is the kind of bakery that you wish you could discover for the first time again. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm aromas and even warmer staff.
The bakers in the back are always busy at work and you can tell that they all genuinely enjoy what they do. Their passion and dedication is proven through their delicious food, regardless of what you order.
My personal favorites are the bacon and vegetable quiche, the sourdough loafs, and the raspberry bars. But I am making my way through the entire menu and have liked everything I have tried so far!
The owner is clearly passionate about her bakery, and I am excited to continue supporting scratch and watching this bakery continue to succeed!

Scratch Baking in Milford, CT is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with food all over again. From the moment you step inside, the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries wraps around you like a warm hug, and you immediately know you’re in for something special.
Every single item in the case looks (and tastes) like it was made with love, because it was. The croissants are impossibly flaky, the sourdough has that perfect tang and crust, and the pastries are always changing with the seasons, keeping things exciting and fresh. It’s the kind of quality that only comes from true dedication to the craft.
And speaking of dedication, the owner is an absolute gem. Warm, passionate, and genuinely invested in the community, she brings not only incredible talent but heart and soul to the bakery. You can feel her presence in every detail, from the thoughtful menu to the welcoming atmosphere. She’s the kind of person who remembers your name, your favorite pastry, and makes you feel like part of the Scratch family.
Whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee and a pastry or picking up bread for the week, you’ll walk out of Scratch not only with something delicious, but with a smile. Milford is incredibly lucky to have this place, it’s more than a bakery, it’s a local treasure.

Only good for baked goods and hot drip coffee, they know nothing about espresso. I am drinking milk…, she put a whole pint of milk in my drink then opened a second one to top of off with more milk.

We went to scratch this morning, and the line didn't move for actually 10 minutes while they were filling online orders.
Staff at least one person for walk up orders or don't have an in person line, please.

Great iced lattes, baked goods and quiche. A bit of a wait on the weekends though.
First time visiting Scratch Baking, and I knew it was going to be good just by seeing the line out front—but it moved quickly. I went with my wife, and we ordered a ham and cheese sandwich with bacon on a ciabatta roll, an oatmeal raisin cookie, sliced ciabatta bread, and their homemade lemonade. Everything was delicious.
They offer a variety of desserts that look amazing, along with several coffee options. There’s limited seating—just two outdoor tables—but it’s still a nice spot to visit and return to. Parking is available in the lot at the back.

We typically love everything from Scratch Baking. We order breakfast sandwiches, quiche, croissants, pastries and sandwiches. Everything has always been excellent. We decided to order a birthday cake. We couldn't believe it came from the same bakery. The cake was extremely dry. The filling and frosting were so bad that nobody ate more than a couple of fork fulls. Even the littles would not eat it. It was to be buttercream, however, the frosting and mousse filling had very little flavor and the consistency of Crisco or lard. I would not recommend the cake. It was unfortunate, as this was the only dessert we had to offer our guests, including the guest of honor.

Great food, LOVE the egg sandwich. Super popular and long lines, but for a reason. It's a must try in Downtown Milford.
Great bakery, wonderful goods. Service a little crazy as it took a while but have to say it was worth the wait!

Went above and beyond! Even at closing time they were able to take a couple of minutes and makeshift a bow with ribbons for my order. Secretly Gave me a free pecan tart in my box as well. Delicious, especially the Dubai brownie!
