Found this local spot on google when looking for a Friday night meal and was very very impressed. We had the CBR, Brunch Burger, and mozzarella sticks. everything was perfectly Seasoned, great portions, fresh out of the kitchen at pick up time and delicious. Can’t wait to try more. Refreshing to try a new place locally that exceeds expectations!

Felt like I discovered a hidden gem. Needed a quick meal but didn’t want fast food. Here enters SAK with its hand battered chicken tenders and made-to-order burgers, dogs and protein bowls. Only the fries and rings aren’t. Everything was delicious! Hit the spot. Perfectly seasoned for me but maybe a bit high if you’re watching your blood pressure lol
One lone, very talented gentleman runs the place most days - so be patient and order early if you’re coming during the dinner rush. Only two 4-person tables are inside - it’s really a takeout place.

Small American Kitchen was okay, but the burgers really missed the mark for us. We ordered a few burgers and all of them were pretty average, especially considering the hype in the reviews. The meat had a noticeable halal flavor that we personally didn’t enjoy.
The sides were better than the burgers overall. The onion rings were good, but the French fries still carried that same halal taste, and the sweet potato fries were not good at all.
The standout item was the handmade crispy tenders fresh, crispy, and flavorful. Those alone are worth coming back for. Service was quick and friendly, which we appreciated.
Overall, decent service and great tenders, but the burgers didn’t live up to expectations for us.

The parm truffle fries are a must.
Try the chili cheese dog!! Buttery toasted bun, everything stayed together nicely. I will be stopping here on my next road trip through CT!

I wish we got a picture of the burger and hot dog but we scarfed them down too quickly—they were sooo good!! The prices are super reasonable ~especially~ for how great the food is. This place is a hidden gem. Try the Ripper dog and BBQ Cheddar burger!
The different sandwiches there were alot of selections. Breakfast sandwiches were cooked to perfection. Soft egg inside perfect crunch with a tasty bun. Great job.

Updated 09/2025- For a side of town that’s been hurting and seen its fair share of spots come and go, Small American Kitchen is an absolute standout. Dogtown gets all the praise on the other side of Milford (for good reason), but this place deserves just as much hype. These guys can burger... top tier through and through.
I was finally able to check out Small American Kitchen after a long wait. All I can say is, these guys can burger. It's a real hidden gem tucked away on a residential street! The BBQ onion burger was packed with flavor, and even as someone who’s not usually into seasoned fries, theirs hit the mark...well-seasoned and the perfect side. Definitely worth a visit!

Today was my first time visiting this establishment, I may have been their first customer of the day as well! Ordered a cheeseburger with the basic fixings, a side order of sweet potato fries, and a root beer to wash it down. That burger was so good I’m upset I don’t live in the area to frequent them enough. Burger was cooked just right, juicy and flavorful, and the fries with the right amount of tenderness and crispiness you would expect your fries to be! The people working here were very friendly and polite, wonderful customer service! It might be a minute before I come back, rest assure, I will return!
