It's like walking into someone's home and you smell something delicious in the air. Then you ask, what is that? And they respond by saying that they are just finishing up cooking some oxtail on the stove. You look at the stove in the back and you say, "I'll have that."
I wish I had taken a picture before I started eating but I couldn't help myself. I got J*** Pork ribs with rice and peas, steamed vegetables and plantain. The ribs were so tender and the j*** sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The rice was moist and perfectly seasoned as well as the steamed vegetables. I'm only visiting CT, but when and if I come back, better believe I'm stopping here for another plate! On top of the food being great, the staff was very nice and the location was clean and tidy!
Amazing Jamaican food!Edit: i wish i could give it another 5 stars rating. Second time coming by and this time i got to try curry goat, oxtail and my fav j*** chicken again. Everything was beyond amazing, but that oxtail though, makes you say wow every bite, simply the best I've ever had and worth every penny! This food as an experience <3
Authentic Jamaican food with friendly staff. My wife is Jamaican, born and raised, and she gives the food a thumbs up. Oxtail is expensive but it's not the restaurants fault. It's expensive everywhere. If the news you see about them struggling is throwing you off....it's not the food. It's the location. It's hidden and we found it by accident. They also need to work on their marketing. Put out flyers and maybe have a stand at a local festival. Also, it's Milford.
Had delicious curry goat! And the rice was coaconutty -- yummy!! Will be back for more! // And I went back about a week later and the food is still great. This time I had curry chicken.
The owner/chef I believe her name is Christine, very kind, friendly and responsive. It was my wife's first time tasting Jamaican cuisine and it was delicious. The curry and j*** chicken was tender with the meat falling of the bone.A large quantity you certainly get your moneys worth.A must try if you want good Jamaican cuisine we will be going back again.
AMAZING Jamaican food, incredible portion sizes and Christine is just the sweetest ? please go support local and try it!
Well seasoned oxtail and brown stew chicken. Serving size is plentiful. Macaroni and cheese was very good as well. I will be back! So happy to have a Jamaican restaurant in Milford.
Lots of love!I had the oxtail dinner. Flavors are fresh. Has a bit of a fruity taste. Less savory, more sweet than most oxtail dinners. It was cooked nicely. Tender but not overcooked.I love that the veggies come in salad form. The contrast of textures and freshness really enhances the dish. Much preferred over the soggy cabbage and carrots you get at other restaurants. It is a very well balanced dish!I will be back to try other dishes!
I just ate here for the first time. The business is clean and the owner is very friendly. Lots of tasty food options and the portions are good. I had sweet and spicy Chicken and also tried a pork chop. I also had a side of mac and cheese. I thought everything tasted good. My only constructive criticism is that all of my food was a bit dry.The chicken was slightly dry but the pork chop was very dry as was the mac and cheese. Not a deal breaker for me but if they get the food as moist as it should be , I would rate it a 5.

Friendly staff. Great service and portion sizes. One neg...Styrofoam containers. They spill easy and not earth friendly.Jerk chicken - sweet smokey and a little spice..throw the pepper sauce on to get it nuclear.Love the rice n peas.....seems like a simple thing but so many places slightly overcook or it's mashOxtail was good, again to the sweeter side, but flavorful.Curry goat was on point. Goat is one of those hit or miss dishes. When it hits it's tender. When it misses it's tough as shoe leather and gamey.I like that there is finally another food option in town.Oh by the way, there was a mention of loaded potatoes and a j*** lasagna possibly hitting the menu. I know it may not be traditional, but YES please!!
Let me start by saying that I can't handle spicy food. I explained this to the owner and she explained that the spice is optional.... Sold!!!I got grandma's oxtail and my son got the curried chicken. The owner gave us a sample of the sweet and sour chicken. Everything was delicious. The flavors were amazing and only the curried chicken had some kick (because curry).Tip: get the extra sauce for the rice. Totally worth it.A must try even if you aren't super adventurous!
Simply delicious. It is all fresh. People are nice. The place is immaculately clean. There aren't too many places to sit, making it more a take out restaurant than a sit down restaurant. I highly recommend it.
Looking for some “FLAVA” in our food! We came across this Milford gem! The aroma hit us and peaked our curiosity and taste buds. My husband and I came with a purpose and we were very pleased with the friendly service and the food. We even raved about the salad and her homemade dressing! We are 5.3 miles away (we calculated to put in our culinary Rolodex) Btw, we had the Mac and cheese, coconut flavor rice, of course the salad and J*** CHICKEN, which I caught him licking his fingers!!
Don’t sleep on the oxtail! I’ve gotten a different meal every time I’ve gone but would not get the oxtail. I was talked into the oxtail by another patron today. It’s amazing!
