Great bakery but they charge you more if you use a credit card. In ct it is not suppose to be done, so now cash only for me, but they got the best rye bread and rolls!

Last time I go here. Stopped in this morning because it was convenient. First thing I noticed was no prices. Ended up paying 45% more than I pay at my regular bakery. And the quality was not as good.

Most of the desserts -- especially the brownies --are always fantastic. Recently, I got there with only a minute to spare, having called earlier. The lady who served me had kept my order aside, and I was able to get it. I went the next day as well, and I will keep on going to Purdy Hill Bakery for a long time.

Vegetarian options: Most items have eggs (i.e., not vegan), but vegetarians like myself should be fine.

I go for the #12 italian sandwich from the deli counter which is awesome. I cannot review the sweet treats as I haven’t tried any. Counter service is slow because they get many customers on lunch hour and it takes a bit to make the sandwiches. That’s a good thing. This isnt subway. I will wait. Support this place! Too many garbage chains in the area that cost more and taste awful. Purdy is purdy awesome!

I tried some pastries from this bakery earlier this year in the spring and was extremely disappointed. I gave them a second chance last week but was met with dissatisfaction yet again.

Both times I got a mixed variety of pastries like their cheesecake, brownie, cake, etc. Both times every single item tasted awful and had this weird flavor, like it had been sitting in the bakery case for weeks. The pastries had potential to taste great if they weren’t so old. It seems they just sit in the case getting that disgusting stale flavor. Completely inedible. I even tried a packaged coffee cake and it was dry as a bone. Waste of money.

The place looks nice but I just had the worst breakfast sandwich of my LIFE,
The BEC was microwaved, the egg was tiny, mushy and cold, the bacon was discolored and mostly raw.
Id be suprised if I didnt get sick.

And thats just the food, the staffs attitude wasnt welcoming either.

Quality was poor. Pastries purchased were stale (served on same day), and no manager available (not even by phone?). Got a store credit for the returned pastries (not the remnants that were shuffled into the garbage by my guests). No apology or other reaction, indicating this type of thing is normal. Not wasting my money on this over-priced, cash-grab, scam-of-a-bakery…

Ordered 2 cakes and 8 cupcakes for a big work function. Nothing was edible!! Cupcakes could not even be cut with a knife, one cake was basically liquid inside and the other tasted like straight up baking soda! I called twice to request a refund and was told someone would call me back. Then they told me I had to bring the items back to prove they were disgusting. They were thrown away because it had been 2 days and I was absolutely mortified at work. I also work in Norwalk so it’s not a quick lunch break trip to Monroe. I am now out $100 and so embarrassed! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this business. The owner does not stand behind the products and they obviously don’t care about their customers. Sad because I used them for many years but obviously something has changed.

I purchased 2 7” cakes and 8 cupcakes for a big work event and was absolutely mortified that not one of the items were edible! The cupcakes could not even be cut with a knife and one of the cakes was all liquidy inside. The third cake was also hard and had a weird taste. I was so embarrassed and upset. This was $100 order and it all ended up in the trash. I called and asked for a refund but I was told nobody could help me and someone would call me tomorrow! That is absolutely not what I expect from a specialty bakery. I understand things happen but I would expect someone to address this type of issue immediately! The entire party was ruined?
