“Sal's Family Pizza is one of the best (if not the best) pizza locations in Connecticut. Authentic Italian slices with a crisp crust and tangy marinara. I have had the pleasure of ordering several dishes including soups, salads and pies and I have never had a bad meal. The ingredients are always fresh and tastey. Service is always friendly and helpful. Do not skip this place the next time you are in town!”

“I doubt seriously if you'll find a better selection of home made middle Eastern foods anywhere - This place even outdoes NYC. Fresh, tasty, generous servings, reasonable prices. Take out or order and eat in the large dining area exquisitely decorated. This is a hidden gem in Monroe. Say hello to Lola - the owner and proud chef. By the way, it's worth a visit just to see the Egyptian Decor and statuary.”

“We reserved the private room for 20 people on a Friday afternoon after my mother’s memorial service. The privacy and opportunity to schmooze was priceless. The room itself is classic with wood paneling. Service was impeccable, and the food was delicious and bountiful.”

“Had an amazing experience at MacDaddy’s again today. Went there for the first time nearly 10 years ago and they’ve only gotten better, which is hard considering how great my first experience was. Despite being a fast casual restaurant, the service was top tier and the food felt like I was right at home.”

“I visited and was really disappointed because Vazzy's has always been a family favorite for years. My aunt had the mussels, which she said the flavor really wasn't there. I had the meatballs appetizer and a salad. The meatballs were ok, but not what I was expecting. My Mom had the chicken parmasean and said it was good. Some of the staff really weren't that friendly. Just a really disappointing visit.”

“Good food, good service, and timely

It’s not set up for a dine-in experience, although there is a counter.

It’s a great choice for a pizza night in or to order for a party.

Prices could be a little lower these days, but the food is always enjoyable.

Dietary restrictions: We have deadly food allergies. They’ve always been attentive. In several years of working with them, there’s never been an issue.

Parking: We can usually park directly in front of the store.

Kid-friendliness: They’re always nice to my son.”

“West of town locale on state route 25 (main street), the main north south route through the upper Stepney section of town. Inside is spacious and good to sit down and eat as a lot of Chinese restaurants are not, restroom also available. This is a neighborhood staple for Chinese food. They also deliver if you want it delivered.”

“Wow, this is the best Chinese food I have found in the area. Food was hot and fresh and they use quality ingredients. The shrimp stir fried with vegetables in kung pao sauce were really fresh and perfectly cooked and the vegetables were still crispy. The crunchy water chestnuts were a nice touch. They don't use heavy gloopy sauces. The hot and sour soup was also a pleasant surprise. It was perfectly balanced with vinegar and some heat from chilis and had lots of fresh mushrooms and shredded bamboo shoots. Most of their business seems to be take-out. Don't be dissuaded by the appearances from the outside. We tried four different dishes and they were all hits. I will definitely be back!”
