Sal's Family Pizza is one of the best (if not the best) pizza locations in Connecticut. Authentic Italian slices with a crisp crust and tangy marinara. I have had the pleasure of ordering several dishes including soups, salads and pies and I have never had a bad meal. The ingredients are always fresh and tastey. Service is always friendly and helpful. Do not skip this place the next time you are in town!

The Best Pizza in the state of Connecticut is in Monroe and it made by the good folks at Sal's Family Pizza. New Haven has great marketing and PR but Monroe has real great pizza. If you just moved here from NY or NJ and cannot believe how bad CT food is just go to Sal's. Disappointed by those floppy New Haven slices? Go to Sal's! Everything is fresh and delicious and the way it should be - or better.
The freaking Sicilian pie is a work of art. All the pizzas and subs are great and the main dishes will make you keep coming back.
Update: We catered an entire graduation party for our Italian family! Great value for excellent food.

We did take out. 4 large pizzas. One pep. One cheese. one bacon. One Sicilian with sausage. All excellent. Meats were all tasty. Crust was perfect. The Sicilian was cooked through and was made extra crispy per my request. Only$73. Great food and a great value. The menu looks quite extensive. Next visit will explore more!

Pork chop scarpiello special was fantastic. Cavatelli with broccoli and sausage in a red sauce is always spot on. Our server, kim, was great and extremely friendly. Always a affordable and delicious experience.

I moved to Monroe over a year ago and I have sampled the pizza in the area with my family over that time, but recently a co-worker of mine told me I have to try Sal's. So with it being lent ... and a Friday ... I thought what better time to try it. I felt a little like Dave Portnoy without the camera and the millions of followers of course. I'm originally from NJ with family roots in NY. I know all the hub bub about pepe's and sally's - they are solid. This is the best local pie I have had. Hands down. Best pizza I have ingested since I got to Monroe. We will be going to Sal's only now for pizza. I didn't comment on atmosphere, because we ordered to go.
