Herb's Country Deli Restaurant is an Amazingly Dope spot that has instantly become a top contender of Top 3 Best Breakfast Spots in the Southeastern CT area! At the same time they have also earned a 'Big Al's 💎 Gem Review'. I walked into a very warm and inviting welcome from the Owner's daughter named Ellen. She was so sweet and even introduced me to her father, Herb's who recently turned 95yrs old about a week ago. I was welcomed by the whole staff and I had such a wonderful server named Dawn! She is truly the Best!! Thank you Dawn! ❤️ I can keep going on and on about how great this spot is so.... Let me continue. The atmosphere is perfect. You get an instant nostalgia experience dining in an amazing family owned restaurant a few tables over from the wonderful man named HERB who started it, now retired, enjoying breakfast with a couple of his family members ❤️ I seriously could not stop smiling the whole time I was there.😁 That was truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had on my journey thus far. ❤️ Let's move onto the food, I ordered and reviewed a few things: 1. 2 slices of Blue Banana Bread & The Elvis- Banana, Chocolate & Peanut butter (comped to try) 💣 2. Sweet Potatoes Hash $8.95 👍🏾 3. One Blueberry Pancake $6.95 💣 4. Pulled Pork Omelet $18.95 💣 5. Glass of Ice Water 😋 💣 Everything they served me was absolutely delicious and my experience at Herb's Country Deli Restaurant was Perfect in every way. We went to have breakfast which my husband ordered the steak in pieces with vegetables the rice was cold I ordered an Italian wedding soup and it was very salty I don't understand what happened since I see the 4.7 reviews but thanks to the waitress who was very helpful she was attentive Of all that, that was all that happened to us. I would like them to improve with the preparation of the products and pay more attention to the salt and the toast was super toasted

Second time going here and it was amazing just like I remember having 5 years ago. Need to start making this a regular spot. Food is very tasty and fresh. Service is professional, and they take care of you. I had the Elvis french toast with home fries(loved it ) and my wife had the Benedict, which was also great. Highly recommend that if you have not been, you will not be disappointed

Our group ot 12 thoroughly enjoyed our food and experience at Herb’s. The service was beyond amazing! We were able to call ahead and reserve a table in the back. Upon being seated, we were treated to fresh, warm sample-size Elvis Bread and Blueberry-Banana Bread. The waitstaff was attentive and kept the coffee and iced coffees full. They also balanced giving space and checking in. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. They got all the little and big things right. They split the check without asking which made cashing out smooth. In addition to allowing my wife to charge her phone in kitchen, they made sure our friend’s birthday was celebrated with gusto. We left with full bellies, big smiles and feeling like we were part of the family! If I am back in the area, I will definitely be back.

The most friendly folks I've ever met. Super flavorful breakfast.
Homemade breads, with Amazing, cinnamony French toast! Tried the Elvis French toast which was great too but it was a little sweet.
Hashbrowns were so seasoned.
The white bread toast-Sounds boring- but it was so fluffy.
Pastrami hash! It was a special -but if your stars are in alignment-hopefully you too will have your life changed!

Some of the best steak and eggs I've had in a very long time! I also got a piece of their blueberry banana bread. It was the closest I've had to my grandmother's! Drove almost an hour to get here based on good friends' recommendations. If I were closer, I would eat here at least three times a week!

After residing in the local area and exploring a myriad of states, savoring local cuisines and dining at numerous restaurants, I regretfully hadn't discovered Herbs until now. What a gem I've been missing! Friends visiting from Florida prompted the perfect occasion to seek out a stellar breakfast spot, and Herbs delivered an unforgettable experience.

From the moment we stepped through the door, Dawn, our server, exemplified professionalism and warmth. Her welcoming demeanor set the tone for our visit, and she continued to impress throughout our meal. Truly, a rockstar in her field.

I indulged in the Lox with sweet potato hash. The Benedict was executed flawlessly, and the house-made hollandaise was luxuriously rich and creamy. To top it all off, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Herb himself, along with his daughter and son. They embody the essence of a loving and dedicated family.

Herbs is an absolute must-visit, where the exceptional dining experience matches the superb cuisine. Thank you, Herb and family. I will undoubtedly return.

Stopped in for breakfast after the Phish show. Everything was amazing... So fresh, big portions. Great coffee. The people who work there are so nice and personable. Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in town!
