A (somewhat) Hidden Gem! Great coffee, good selection of chocolates and other dessert items. Super friendly staff and is a quick little walk from the busy Main Street. Definitely recommend!

Please subscribe to my YouTube channel aboricualifeinusa. Had the beer flights. Not a fan of the chocolate beer but the ipa and Belgium were good. Give this place a chance.

I went here with my mom and I'm so glad we did. The owner was working and greeted us with a smile. He was happy to strike up a conversation about the business and informed us that he travels to the locations of his cacao farmers including Ecuador and Hawaii! He knew a lot about the cacao industry and the way he spoke it was so obvious that this isn't just a business, it's a passion. My mom got the regular 70% drinking chocolate with a shot of espresso and I got the 70% Mayan drinking chocolate that was medium spicy. It had just the right amount of kick and was like drinking a premium chocolate bar. Definitely the best chocolate beverage I've ever had! Next time I return to mystic I will be retuning to the Mystic River Chocolate Café. Service 10/10,flavor 10/10, atmosphere 10/10. Try it out, you'll be so happy you did!

I love chocolate! The moment you walk in your senses are aroused. The smell is divine.
-came when the cafe just opened
-The owner was present and pleasant(well traveled and makes authentic chocolate, specifically from Ecuador)
🦋 I got the oat milk 70% hot chocolate with whip cream and OMG it was simply incredible. Definitely recommend for true chocolate lovers (I’m very well traveled as well, just came back from a trip from Peru) .
🦋 I loved it so much, that I got a second cup of the same to go. Saved every moment while walking around the cute shops , the bridge and all.
-very spacious cafe
-good atmosphere and ambience
-very chill vibes (from the cafe looking out the window, it feels like you’re in Brooklyn)
-there’s a bathroom for customers
-there’s other products here on sale as well, definitely have a look

Wow! Mystic River Chocolate Cafe has wonderful organic bean to bar chocolate. The drinking chocolate is also delicious. This cafe is a gem! Definitely check it out!

I had their signature hot chocolate, and it was the best thing I have ever had! ☕️

I have high standards for chocolate, and I especially love dark chocolate! The hot cocoa was not your average drink, it was extremely rich and chocolately, but not too sweet!

The cafe items were reasonably priced for their quality of the food, and I had an overall wonderful experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped in after visiting Boston for several days. The coffee was excellent, the chocolate was great and the staff was lovely. If you swing into Mystic (which I suggest), this cute cafe is a must.

Easily the BEST coffee I’ve ever had. Truly a hidden gem. Go in to check out their chocolate but stay for the coffee. The sweetest people work there. It does not disappoint

The chocolate is pretty good, the coffee is decent but the ice cream is terrible. Definitely stop by here for some unique flavors but skip anything with soft serve. The person working the counter was incredibly friendly and very helpful!

We love chocolate and were excited to try this place - it has a great story of well-sourced and locally-crafted chocolate. However, the taste, texture and overall experience of the chocolate didn’t live up to our expectations - especially at the high price point. The coffee drinks were average and slightly overpriced ($5 medium cup of coffee and $6 small cappuccino). Cute vibe, great idea, nice location, and the employee was extremely friendly. However, we’d not likely return based on this experience and the chocolate we tried.

Cute little chocolate shop. Paid public parking nearby. Their frozen hot chocolates is delicious! Will be going back for their beer and other chocolate wares. On another note, the smell of chocolate when you walk is nice, not overwhelming! I would definitely recommend and go back!

I was in Mystic on vacation last week. I normally would not spend $10 or more on a chocolate bar but I saw the “small batch craft chocolate” and decided to splurge. I purchased the Toffee and Sea Salt Milk Chocolate, 32% Cacao. I do not know if there was a mix-up in packaging but this is not milk chocolate and it is not 32% Cacao. I do not care for dark chocolate and this is very dark. It has absolutely no taste of toffee or sea salt. I am extremely disappointed! 😢

Mystic River is a cute chocolate cafe, offering chocolates (of course), chocolate drinks, coffee & tea. You'll pay a pretty penny, to be expected of delicious artisan chocolate.Southeast CT is desperately in need of more study hangouts (Starbucks' 2-foot round tables just don't cut it anymore), but this ain't it. And by design: No wi-fi (they reserve it for staff), and all the outlets are covered. The four surveillance cameras in the space also make it feel like you've been caught up in an FBI sting operation. Oh well, on with the hunt for good coffee AND a welcoming atmosphere for a digital nomad ?
