“Barbary is our favorite spot. We’ve now been 4 times in the past year. Now when we go other places my husband and I agree that we should have gone back to Barbary Coast!”

“The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it”

“Just enjoyed amazing cocktails (Gimlet and Curry Barbados) and Nosh (mushrooms had amazing flavor, Korean fried chicken sandwich, salty and delicious, empanadas crisp and yummy) from their Happy Hour menu which is being expanded from 4:00 to 6:00. On Tuesday starting at 6:30 or 7:00 is a jazz quartet which we sadly had to miss but will definitely be back. Our waitress Claire was darling and very informative. Bartender was spectacular!”

“So very disappointed. Was there with a disabled person and treated terribly by customers and wait staff. Food was not good and service was terrible. Have been there previously and had a much better experience. I am not sure what changed but definitely will not go back or recommend this place if the same rude waitress is there. So very disappointed.”

“We went there with expectations to get just a lobster roll, and we did that but they offer much more. The lobster roll flight was fantastic. The bread was so soft and lightly toasted to perfection. The lobster was fresh and delicious. They also have kid’s tenders and hot dogs. The lemonade was even tasty! Highly recommend!”

Pink Basil came through in a major way. From the moment I walked in the atmosphere was buzzing with energy, families locals and tourists all enjoying the Village vibe. The food the service and the whole experience had me locked in from start to finish. By the end of this meal there was no question… this one goes down as a Big Al’s 💎 Gem Spot. Service & Atmosphere: The service here was absolutely top notch. My host Payton got me started right. My server Mark handled everything perfectly... attentive professional and just an all around wonderful guy. Flora also stepped in with great support and I even got a photo with Travis the bartender. Behind the sushi counter two chefs were working hard and delivered rolls that blew me away. The whole team made this meal stand out. The atmosphere inside Pink Basil is vibrant and welcoming.... it’s clear why this place stays busy. Perfect balance of flavor and texture- exciting the palate. 💣 Bomb 4️⃣ Khao Soi with Duck- $26.95 Flavors exploding textures amazing. Absolutely delicious in every form. 💣 Bomb 5️⃣ Spicy Chili Garlic Noodles with Beef- $16.95 Bold flavors great spice cooked perfectly. 💣 Bomb ✅ Final Take: Pink Basil delivered a flawless performance. Every single dish earned a bomb the service was incredible and the atmosphere was on point. “I've only been here a few times, but I can confidently say that the staff is always extremely welcoming, friendly, warm, and pleasant. I've never had a bad time or inconvenience there. There are decent options for food and drinks... I have yet to try something I don't like. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and comfortable. I definitely recommend giving this place a chance if you haven't yet! The Staff and Owner make sure that everyone present is happy, safe, and satisfied. 🙌”

“My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. We make it a point to come every year!”

“Delicious Treats at Sift Bake Shop – Mystic! 🥐🍰

My husband, our fur daughter Chewie, and I spent 4 days and 3 nights in CT, and before heading back yesterday to NJ, we stopped by Sift Bake Shop in Mystic. It was our first time there, and WOW—everything looked so good! I ended up spending almost $90! 😆 Since we’re not from CT and didn’t know what to order, I asked one of the servers for her recommendations, and I followed most of her suggestions. I don’t know the names of everything I ordered, but I took pictures so I can remember them! 😂
This morning for brunch, my mother-in-law and I had the ham and cheese croissant, and it was HUGE and absolutely delicious! 😋 Everything looked so fresh and tempting, and I’m sure the rest of what I ordered will be just as delicious. I honestly can’t wait to try everything!
Such a great find in Mystic, and we’re so glad we stopped by before heading home. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in CT! ❤🥐”

“Great lunch! The price point is spot on for the quantity & especially quality of the fish. The local catch of the day for the fish & chips was Red Drum. Excellently seasoned batter & tasty flakey fillets. The fries were just the right amount of crispy & the salt & vinegar onion rings were def ride or die! Possibly the only fish & chip experience I’ve had that there was no need for any condiments. Well done to Peter & his amazing team. Looking forward to tautog & blackfish season showing up on the menu.”

“What an excellent experience we had last night! The restaurant is decorated beautifully for the holiday season. We sat at the bar & had impeccable service. The food was outstanding. The baked goods, everything is so delicious the best cider doughnuts ever eaten 🤤 😋…Not only is this place educational for watching and learning how cider is made the old fashioned way but because the ppl are so amazingly friendly its family owned and 3 Generations work on the grounds and love what they do! I personally met and spoke to 2 of many, John who is in the mill making the cider and will tell you all you need to know about it. As well as Amy (Nurse on site, John’s sister and her mom makes the cider doughnuts, she goes in at 3am to do so😳) who was so friendly and helpful she and some of the workers and some patrons helped my father,who has an inner ear issue with vertigo. Came on all of a sudden right at the register these ppl were so helpful and came to his aid got him to a chair during this scary 😟 time for him. I can’t thank them enough but go show your support and enjoy some hard cider 🍺 and pick up wine and apple pie 🥧 for home! Dogs 🐶 are welcome!! “Best cold pressed juices! I’m a new Weekly “stopper”. I place an order on line generally 24hours prior to pick up. (So easy to order) pick up being just as quick and easy. Staff is always so kind and accommodating!! To be 💯 honest, these are THE FRESHEST juices around! I have tried many other cold pressed juices and these are not comparable!!! Karma uses fresh ingredients and the difference is in every sip! Literally Karma Kitchen juices WELL SURPASS ALL OTHER JUICES I’ve tried! No turning back!! I’m so grateful I found this place! 🥕🥒”

Clean, friendly, attentive staff, many selections, breakfast all day, reasonable prices. Lots of desserts but didn't try any. They have a take out window. If it looks like they're packed and long wait, go in anyway, the place is huge. It happened to us and there were plenty of tables/booths available.”

“Came here for the museum’s member appreciation day, and the Tavern was serving complimentary snacks. I didn’t get the name of the person working behind the bar making drinks that night, but he was working alone and despite it being really busy (and hectic), he was patient, polite and funny with everyone there. While my family sat outside at one of the tables to enjoy the music, he brought out a fresh batch of hot pretzels that he had just made and he gave it to us, and another table. We all sat and watched the sunset while enjoying music, and delicious pretzels!”

There is only outdoor seating so this spot recently reopened on April 25th for the Season. This afternoon my Brother AP, his children & I dropped into Sea Swirl to find out if they are serving up Good Lobster Rolls and I also had to try out one of their new "Lobster Cones". I ordered and reviewed: 1. Lobster Bisque Cone $13.99 💣 2. Hot Lobster Roll $28.99 👍🏾 I started with the Lobster Bisque Cone and enjoyed every delicious spoonful! The Lobster Cone is similar to a bread bowl with Lobster Bisque but the cone tastes like a croissant. So good! I gave it a Thumbs up but in hindsight it really deserved a bomb 💣 because it was Top Notch! Next I dove into the Lobster roll. First off, the price of the Lobster Roll is lower than most spots and it was absolutely delicious! I loved it and it earned a Thumbs👍🏾 I will drop into Sea Swirl for Lobster Rolls and Lobster Cones all summer long because that spot is Dope! I highly recommend this spot to my friends and family so hurry up and get your a** down there and check them out! Here’s how it all went down: 1️⃣ Wood-Fired Wings (Buffalo) - $15.95 BOMB! 💣 Eight perfectly wood-fired wings- crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with buffalo sauce that hits just right. The blue cheese dressing deserves its own shoutout 💣😎 2️⃣ Oma’s Real Meatball Sandwich- $17.50 BOMB! 💣 These wood-roasted, hand-rolled meatballs were full of flavor and smothered in rich pomodoro sauce, tucked inside toasted rustic bread with melted provolone and parmesan. It comes with potato chips and a fresh crunchy pickle. 3️⃣ Small Mango’s Mozzarella Pie- ½ Mozzarella/Funky Monkey- $19.95 💣 DOUBLE BOMB! The cheese half? The best cheese pizza I’ve had on this side of the Thames River, perfect crust, flawless sauce-to-cheese ratio. The Funky Monkey half? 💣💣 DOUBLE BOMB!
