“This was a last minute decision and it was well worth it and I can’t wait to go back. I sat at the bar with no reservations and enjoyed a cocktail that bartender crafted & it was fabulous. For bites I had the grilled shrimp
Skewer and the hummus and bread. The portion size was plenty. I highly suggest trying this great small spot with a menu that needs more five star reviews !”

“The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it”

“Just enjoyed amazing cocktails (Gimlet and Curry Barbados) and Nosh (mushrooms had amazing flavor, Korean fried chicken sandwich, salty and delicious, empanadas crisp and yummy) from their Happy Hour menu which is being expanded from 4:00 to 6:00. On Tuesday starting at 6:30 or 7:00 is a jazz quartet which we sadly had to miss but will definitely be back. Our waitress Claire was darling and very informative. Bartender was spectacular!”

“So very disappointed. Was there with a disabled person and treated terribly by customers and wait staff. Food was not good and service was terrible. Have been there previously and had a much better experience. I am not sure what changed but definitely will not go back or recommend this place if the same rude waitress is there. “My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. We make it a point to come every year!”

“I recently hosted a bridal shower at Mix in Mystic, and it exceeded every expectation. From start to finish, the entire event was beautiful, seamless, and so well done.

The food was absolutely perfect, and the staff did an outstanding job consistently replenishing the buffet so everything stayed fresh and plentiful throughout the event. The service was top notch—everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure our guests had a great experience. They served with smiles and made everyone feel welcome.

A special thank you to Brittany, the Events Manager, who was incredible to work with. She was responsive, organized, easy to communicate with, and so helpful throughout the planning process. She made everything stress-free, especially when it came to dietary restrictions and providing alternative food options for guests, and was a huge part of why the day went so smoothly.

The downtown Mystic location and beautiful view from the restaurant added so much to the atmosphere of the event and made the day feel even more special.

Our guests had an amazing time, and I lost count of how many people told me how special and beautiful everything was. I would highly recommend Mix in Mystic for any special event. They truly helped make the day unforgettable.”

“Great lunch! The price point is spot on for the quantity & especially quality of the fish. The local catch of the day for the fish & chips was Red Drum. Excellently seasoned batter & tasty flakey fillets. The fries were just the right amount of crispy & the salt & vinegar onion rings were def ride or die! Possibly the only fish & chip experience I’ve had that there was no need for any condiments. Well done to Peter & his amazing team. Looking forward to tautog & blackfish season showing up on the menu.”

“I've only been here a few times, but I can confidently say that the staff is always extremely welcoming, friendly, warm, and pleasant. I've never had a bad time or inconvenience there. There are decent options for food and drinks... I have yet to try something I don't like. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and comfortable. Staff is always so kind and accommodating!! To be 💯 honest, these are THE FRESHEST juices around! I have tried many other cold pressed juices and these are not comparable!!! Karma uses fresh ingredients and the difference is in every sip! Literally Karma Kitchen juices WELL SURPASS ALL OTHER JUICES I’ve tried! No turning back!! I’m so grateful I found this place! 🥕🥒”

“Came here on a Sunday afternoon. This is an authentic-feeling pub. The Guinness is pretty good quality. The interior is cozy, and the pub isn’t very large. When I visited, the bar was full so I sat at a table; it took a little while to get service, but the bartender was very nice and she checked in a few times when my glass was getting empty. I didn’t try any food, but I can see myself coming back and ordering a sandwich and an appetizer.”

“This is a hidden gem in Mystic. Much cheaper than many of the more expensive eateries in town, yet the food is better than most of those places. The Thai tea in their fridge is cheap yet surprisingly good (forgive my cynicism, but I’ve come to associate inexpensive Thai tea with very low quality Thai tea, yet theirs defied that stereotype). Having their sesame bean curd while sitting among their humble little stone benches / rock garden / flower bushes out front, can make for a charming stop for one walking around Mystic.”

“Our first time visit to the area and Mystic Diner was recommended. We enjoyed their breakfast several mornings. Clean, friendly, attentive staff, many selections, breakfast all day, reasonable prices. Lots of desserts but didn't try any. They have a take out window. If it looks like they're packed and long wait, go in anyway, the place is huge. It happened to us and there were plenty of tables/booths available.”

“This restaurant has a nice, clean interior and is very comfortable overall. We ordered karaage chicken, sushi, tantan ramen, miso soup, and Thai tea, and everything tasted excellent. The karaage chicken was the standout - light, crispy, and perfectly paired with a simple sauce that worked really well.

My only note was the chashu pork in the tantanmen, which was quite bland and a bit tough to chew. Chashu should always be slow-cooked for several hours and rich in flavor. That said, the broth, noodles, and ramen egg were all great. The broth could be slightly creamier, in my opinion, but it was still very enjoyable.

Service was okay overall. One of the servers (an Asian woman) came across as a bit dismissive and not very welcoming, though the other staff we interacted with seemed friendly.

Overall, a very good experience. Vacation restaurants can sometimes feel like tourist traps or money grabs with underwhelming food, but this one was a pleasant surprise.”

“Came here for the museum’s member appreciation day, and the Tavern was serving complimentary snacks. I didn’t get the name of the person working behind the bar making drinks that night, but he was working alone and despite it being really busy (and hectic), he was patient, polite and funny with everyone there. While my family sat outside at one of the tables to enjoy the music, he brought out a fresh batch of hot pretzels that he had just made and he gave it to us, and another table. We all sat and watched the sunset while enjoying music, and delicious pretzels!”

The blue cheese dressing deserves its own shoutout 💣😎 2️⃣ Oma’s Real Meatball Sandwich- $17.50 BOMB! 💣 These wood-roasted, hand-rolled meatballs were full of flavor and smothered in rich pomodoro sauce, tucked inside toasted rustic bread with melted provolone and parmesan. It comes with potato chips and a fresh crunchy pickle. 3️⃣ Small Mango’s Mozzarella Pie- ½ Mozzarella/Funky Monkey- $19.95 💣 DOUBLE BOMB! The cheese half? “05.25.25- Written Review: 'Big Al's Reel Reviews' EP.108 Ft. Apathy Sea Swirl 👍🏾 Mystic, CT Sea Swirl is an Amazingly Dope spot located in Mystic, CT! There is only outdoor seating so this spot recently reopened on April 25th for the Season. This afternoon my Brother AP, his children & I dropped into Sea Swirl to find out if they are serving up Good Lobster Rolls and I also had to try out one of their new "Lobster Cones". I ordered and reviewed: 1. Lobster Bisque Cone $13.99 💣 2. Hot Lobster Roll $28.99 👍🏾 I started with the Lobster Bisque Cone and enjoyed every delicious spoonful! The Lobster Cone is similar to a bread bowl with Lobster Bisque but the cone tastes like a croissant. So good! I gave it a Thumbs up but in hindsight it really deserved a bomb 💣 because it was Top Notch! Next I dove into the Lobster roll. First off, the price of the Lobster Roll is lower than most spots and it was absolutely delicious! I loved it and it earned a Thumbs👍🏾 I will drop into Sea Swirl for Lobster Rolls and Lobster Cones all summer long because that spot is Dope! I highly recommend this spot to my friends and family so hurry up and get your a** down there and check them out!
