“We can’t say enough about our breakfast. It was delicious! The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. Coffee is delicious. Specialty coffees are innovative and amazing. I can tell you the ‘Life on Marzipan’ will make your day ?. We will be back to experience more of their menu!! We also go a “made to order” sourdough donut. INCREDIBLE! A nice chew, fantastic flavor, there was nothing we would change about the meals we had here. Thank you, Nanas!“

“They offer French fries, either regular or spicy. We ordered the spicy ones thinking they would be like the generic curly fries with extra zing that we enjoy in other restaurants. What they were was an order of regular fries with Cajun spice poured on top. Some had way too much seasoning and some were not even covered. Not only was this not appealing in any way, but there was so much spice on a number of them that the flavoring remained on the tongue and completely killed any taste of the fish and salad that accompanied it. I would recommend people NOT order this or the kitchen take more care in its preparation.“

“Great atmosphere! The service was good too. The food was not amazing, though. My fish sandwich had a large bone in it which didn’t seem like a fish bone… it was at least 3 inches long, but I understand this is probably not the restaurant’s fault, but rather their food provider. My brother got a sandwich with a piece of plastic inside that he ate. The restaurant gave him a free dessert to compensate for that. The pickles tasted very sour and I could not eat them. The bagged chips were good. The crumb cake was good and the other sandwich we got was as well.“

“My family visited the aquarium for the first time this past weekend. This was the first time since COVID hit that we have ventured out. We felt so safe here. It was extremely easy to get to and offered ample parking. Tickets were brought in advance and the line to get in ran very smoothly. The grounds were very well kept and everything was clean. There were multiple sanitizing stations offered throughout. We have two aquariums in New York, and honestly Mystic beats them both by a landslide. We were there early Saturday morning and had beautiful weather. Even though it was a Saturday, the crowd was completely manageable and you never felt like people were on top of you. Everyone was well respecting of others space and followed the guidelines set forth by the aquarium signage. Staff were all masked and so very nice at each exhibit. The exhibits were amazing. My kids loved everything as did my husband and I. The penguins were adorable. My son got a kick out of the beluga whales (see attached pic) as one of them swam by and teased him. To our delight, they have an amazing dinosaur exhibit for the little Dino loving people in your life. The touch pool with stingrays was great. There was timed and 20 ppl limited entry. The area was big enough where you felt totally safe with that amount of folks in the tent. There were also very clean tables set up for you to take a quick break and eat some snacks. The concession stands were open, but we did not use them. The gift shop was so nice and of course we left with some stuffed animals.“

“Parking across street large lot. Chairs tables front of restaurant before you walk in. Bathroom to right as you walk in. Hostess to left. Get a seat closer to the bar area. Views are magical. Outside another dozen or more tables and a bar. So no need to worry about space. But as the season kicks in make a reservation. Prices are inexpensive for the shore. Food is excellent. Drinks prices reasonable. Good beer choices and mixed drinks.“

My family and i enjoyed one of the best rueben sandwiches ever. Lots of lean corned beef, delicious slaw with a pleasant surprise of a pickled egg! All beautifully grilled. Shunock River Brewery and Village Cafe Brewery • $$
2 Wyassup Rd, North Stonington

“Shunock River Brewery And River Cafe stands out because it is inclusive to everyone- no weird looks that I noticed to me or other segregated groups and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This place’s hours range from the earliest to latest dinners, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The food is very affordable and if reviewed, I have no doubt that Michelin would give it a “Bib Gourmand” badge. This place is well known for their pizza and for a good reason- pizza is made inside a historic brick column with many ingredients being local. All minors in my family were given delicious cookies upon entry. Not one employee there was even slightly bitter and half the employees were smiling even without guests around. Unique brewery made beer available on tap. Smoking guidelines are unclear and unenforced. Live music occurs twice a week. If you come here consider joining the “mug club” it is a subscription where you have a designated chilled mug that is easy to get to and you can get free beers!Food just as good as environment and all food is made after order.Summary: get your butt up and come here“

“We were a party of four on a Friday night at 7:30. People filled the place by 8:30. There was a $15 cover to see Take it to the Bridge. The sound in the place is fantastic and the band was awesome. We also ate dinner from the cafe. I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich with house chip that was on the specials menu for the night (mild, medium, hot) $17. The sandwich was very large, cooked perfectly and it was delicious. I ordered it spicy hot, but it had no spice at all. There was a slight taste of ranch, I think they spread some on the bun. The waitress didn't come over to ask how everything was so I didn't get a chance to get hot sauce of any kind. I also tried the panko chicken sandwich, which was also excellent. The chicken was lightly battered, it was pretty much had the texture of a grilled chicken sandwich. It had lettuce, tomato, pickles, aioli, and bacon. The chicken was tender and juicy and the bacon was crispy. I would recommend going for the music and the food. The menu is small, but has plenty of healthy and not so healthy option to please a wide variety of tastes.“
