“What a great place with great food”

“food was excellent and tater tots a highlight, when are you coming back to the UK? we missed you in London!”

So far as this is, we’ve had the shrimp scampi lobster risotto crabcake as well as the beef Wellington overall review four out of five stars starting out with the

shrimp scampi good flavors great sauce, Lil underseasoned but perfectly cooked

Lobster risotto, light, fluffy, airy, perfectly cooked risotto, and lobster. That was so soft. It had to be poached when it was cooked how tender it was overall flavor very subtle again.

Crabcake good amount of crab not much filler great overall crabcake could have used a little bit more sauce again very well cooked

Moving onto the last, the beef Wellington
I have never had beef Wellington before, but I can tell you the experience when trying this my first bite was amazing perfectly cooked medium rare center. Good amount of flavor nice crispy crust.

We also had the pudding as well, probably the best item on the entire menu by far

Overall, I rate this at a four out of five on a scale very small portions highly priced cooked perfectly underseasoned I would be returning, but it would be a very long time before I do 4/5”

“Excellent coffee, great service, and a gigantic variety of breads and pastries and other desserts that are all affordably priced. I had a dark roast and some apple bread pudding. Delicious.”

“We’ve been coming here for the last few years and have never been disappointed. Service is quick, and food flavor and quality is consistent, with good value (portion wise) for the price. Our family of 4 can easily have dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day, for about $75.

If you’re looking for DimSum, this isn’t the spot for you. If you’re looking for quick Chinese takeout, this place is perfect.”

“The red wine...awful...both we tried tastes like vinegar with NO legs....had to return the bottle for a white....much much better..I complained about the red about 3 years ago to Paul....guess the owners must've loved it though....ugh....I'll be back but not for the Red!”

“Experienced dulcet de leche dazzled sundae for first time in Hollywood, FL. Was best sundae this 67 year old has ever had. Took detour to Foxwoods on trip from Boston to Albany NY.

“On vacation with family and we came here day one for lunch and came back everyday for the next 3 days. The food was great the overall energy/vibe was nice. However what really kept bringing us back was the bartender Cendy. The drinks were great, the service was great, she just worked like a well oiled machine it was great to see. Not very often do you get service like that highly recommend going Sunday and Mondays especially during appy hour 3-430. Sit at the bar and enjoy great service!”

“This place has evolved over the years. I think it has the best pizza around. I've tried so many places in my area, and Ledyard Pizza has the best pizza. I can't speak about anything else they offer, but for pizza, they are top notch.”

“My husband ordered a meatball calzone. It was definitely enough for two people. He said it was really good, took half of it home with extra sauce as well. I had the Valentino's salad. It was loaded with chicken, candied walnuts, raisins. I added feta cheese to mine. The balsamic dressing is awesome!”

“I don’t make reviews often, but I got some of the best service at a McDonald’s here. Got a large meal and the cashier at the drive thru looked in my bag, saw they gave me a medium fry and corrected it. A national hero. He even asked if I wanted and sauces or anything before I left. Stupendous service. And my food is hot. 5 stars fabulous place.”

“The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it”

“So very disappointed. Was there with a disabled person and treated terribly by customers and wait staff. Food was not good and service was terrible. Have been there previously and had a much better experience. I am not sure what changed but definitely will not go back or recommend this place if the same rude waitress is there. So very disappointed.”

“Just enjoyed amazing cocktails (Gimlet and Curry Barbados) and Nosh (mushrooms had amazing flavor, Korean fried chicken sandwich, salty and delicious, empanadas crisp and yummy) from their Happy Hour menu which is being expanded from 4:00 to 6:00. On Tuesday starting at 6:30 or 7:00 is a jazz quartet which we sadly had to miss but will definitely be back. Our waitress Claire was darling and very informative. Bartender was spectacular!”

“Rode my Harley from Hartford down to Mystic today to have lunch at Oyster Club. I was amazed at how good the oysters were. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the roast beef sandwich off the lunch menu. It was just as delicious. They even have a tree house with seating for dining. If I could give six stars, I would. I will definitely be back. If you are thinking about going there, then go. Founded in 2019 by husband & wife team Johan Jensen, a Danish born, British-trained chef, and Abby Hamann, a Connecticut native, Whitecrest focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients and dishes that are handmade with care. You can seriously feel that philosophy the moment the plates hit the table/bar. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the place was packed. The atmosphere was low-lit, warm, bustling, with high ceilings and beautiful décor that makes the Velvet Mill such a standout setting. Service was handled by a small three-person team: Liz (manager)- friendly, welcoming, and a supporter of Big Al’s Reel Reviews Amber (my bartender/server)- attentive and on point Jocy- helping run the floor Even with a full house, they kept everything moving smoothly. Service was bomb.💣 Now let's talk about the Food: 1️⃣ Steamed Wild Maine Mussels- $16 💣 BOMB The sauce- cream fraîche, herbs, Weissling, and lemon was addictive. Mussels cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and the sourdough they make in house and served with it was the perfect pairing. A strong bomb right out the gate. 2️⃣ Béarnaise Burger- $22 💣 BOMB Burger came out perfectly cooked bright pink inside, juicy, seasoned right. Alone, it’s a thumbs-up… But then the tallow fries hit. These fries are soft, hot, insanely flavorful, and some of the best fries I’ve had anywhere. The fries elevated the entire plate into a straight bomb. 3️⃣ Roasted Duck Breast- $36 💣 BOMB This dish was incredible. Duck breast cooked perfectly, tender, rich, and beautifully plated. The potatoes were absolutely amazing, and every bite delivered. I was full, but I wanted more.
