“This was one of the best hidden gems my husband and I found!! We were coming back from a day out of volunteering in Old Mystic and we were craving ice cream. Found this little gem and the ice cream I got (lemon meringue) was SO good I asked if I could buy a pint! It was so creamy and flavorful, I was sad we live over 40 min out otherwise I’d be here almost every day! Good excuse to go golfing and then stop by for a treat, so we have a great excuse to come back! Great flavors and reasonable price.”

“I love Vocatura’s . The hard grinder rolls are the best for grinders. Very good deli meats and cheeses and prices are very good. Amy’s mom makes the best carrot cake. And brownies & big choc chip cookies are yummy. A full range of Italian cookies you can buy by the pound. & other assorted pastries like apple turnovers and eclairs- all very good, spinach pie etc
They offer breakfast sandwiches too and make great pizzas. We’ve been going here for years”

The amount of effort that goes into their coffee is evident the first time you taste it, and on the tour I gained a greater appreciation for the skill and attentiveness required to make great coffee (we even roasted some and took it home with us). This place is incredible; if you've never had their coffee, do yourself a favor and run, don't walk, to your nearest Big Y.”

You could have knocked me over with a feather when he rang up the wings 7.59 for 3 !! Dammit! I said are the potatoes included he said no but I really wanted those dam Jojo’s 10 dollars and 29 cents later I scurried out with my purchase!! I have to admit they were DELICIOUS ? “I came in 7 minutes before they closed, told them I knew it was late and was fine if they just wanted to go home, as I could only imagine the frustration of someone last minute. They said it was okay and took my order, nothing big just two items and verified with them it was alright to be ordering extras like fries that late. Turns out they had two people call out and so it seemed to just be 3 of them holding down the fort. Anyways tipped them in cash and thanked them. As for the food?
Burger? BOMB.
Fries? BOMB.

Don’t come in late like I did though, they don’t deserve that, tip them they definitely deserve that.

“I ordered the Formosa Chicken which comes with porkfried rice and an eggroll. It was delicious! Best Chinese food I've had in years. The chicken was very fresh and white,it had snowpeas,sliced carrots ( perfectly cooked! Not too hard not too soft! I'm fussy about my carrots!), baby corn ( did not taste canned,these tasted fresh!),mushrooms (also fresh and tasty, not slimey!), crunchy water chestnuts ( sliced) and bamboo shoots,and some other vegetables ( maybe onion or celery or it might have been bok choy,not sure about that one,but also tasty,whatever it was! The pork fried rice was the yellow type,which I prefer, with peas,and the red pork ,(not the type drowning in soy sauce, I really don't care for that type of pork fried rice),and the egg roll was just like the ones back in the 1970's which I loved! Crispy ,and cooked just right! And the dinner I got was a smallish container ,but it was actually more than enough, and I'll have the remaining 1/2 which I literally could not eat the rest,tomorrow for lunch. The service was very speedy. I gave a lower score for atmosphere ,because it's only take out,so who cares how it looks! The food tasted great! That's all that really matters! I should also say, the sauce the chicken and vegetables came in was a whitish clear sauce,extremely mild and subtle. If you like hot spicy food,this is about as opposite as it gets! This is for very refined taste buds. This is classic American Chinese food at its best( real Chinese food,I'm told ,tastes nothing like our American Chinese food,but if you grew up with American Chinese food of the 1970s as I did,you'll love King Wah! I highly recommend it!”
