What an incredible experience! Growing up in (and moving away from) CT, I’ve missed the magic of fresh New England seafood — and J & R brought me right back. The menu had me (sea)shell-shocked in the best way. The fish tacos were off the hook, my colleague rolled with the hot lobster roll, and the lobster flight? Let’s just say We have some unfinished business there. Next time!

Visited Mystic for the first time and stopped in for lunch. We were seated quickly even though the area was busy. I got the lobster roll even though it was on the more expensive side because there were no other options I liked. I asked in advance if it had celery in it and the server confirmed that it did. However, it did not have celery, it had scallions. This totally changed the flavor of the lobster roll. I was not impressed. The description does not give any information about ingredients, which may be helpful for patrons. There was live music, which I usually avoid, but he was very good. Overall, I enjoyed the setting but disappointed with the food.

Although it’s a small place, it’s a fantastic spot for a lobster roll—so far, my favorite! If you order the regular lobster roll, it comes hot, fresh, and just melts in your mouth. My go-to is the lobster flight, and every bite is absolutely delicious. Definitely a 5 out of 5 for me!
This is just a hole in the wall place… Mostly for Take Out. The lobster roll flight was delicious. All three lobster rolls had tons of lobster and were excellent. I would easily order this again. Other than Mystic Pizza, it’s the place in Mystic that you shouldn’t pass by.

Off the Hook is hands down one of my favorite spots in Mystic! Their poke bowls are always fresh and flavorful with the highest quality seafood. My husband isn’t a seafood fan, but he loves their smash burger...it’s nice to have great non-seafood options too. The menu has something for everyone, and the customer service is consistently top notch. Allison (owner) goes above and beyond to make sure every customer has an excellent experience. The modern décor and the art wall of fishing boats add so much charm and make the space feel unique to Mystic. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood or something else, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!!! You won't be disappointed.
