I would not go back to La Casita. I'll start by saying the service was fantastic, our waitress was very kind and attentive, no complaints there! Unfortunately the rest of our experience was pretty lack luster. For starters, we ordered house margaritas which ended up being primarily pre-made sour mix and tequila (we were sitting at the bar and watched it be made) which at the price point (around $10) isn't super suprising but immediately disappointing for Mexican restaurant. We didn't order any more drinks after that because they were simply just not good. For dinner we both had quesadillas and they were incredibly lack luster. I had the shredded chicken in mine which was effectively flavorless aside from a hint soap (and I'm not someone who associated cilantro with that flavor so it absolutely was not that). Somehow even the guacamole that was served with the quesadillas was bland. The real kicker was the literal pile of extremly roughly chopped (I'm talking 1-2in wide) and not particularly fresh iceberg lettuce with 4 tiny pieces of diced tomato thrown in as an attempt to be garnish (or some form pico de gallo maybe, honestly I have no idea) tossed haphazardly in the middle of the plate. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a picture.
All-in-all, I definitely won't be coming back here. Admittely there's more authentic/much higher quality mexican food in and around Naugatuck than this place for sure.
Highly recommend this place! Food and service is excellent!
Gave it a 3 because after going there a few times we decided to go on Cinco de Mayo and they gave us menus with no prices. When we got the bill the prices were double and triple of their usual prices.
How is this place even open still?
Worst soft taco I've ever had.
Did you cook the meat in a crockpot for 2 days?
It was weird.... I shoulda drove to wtby for Taco bell? And why was there lettuce tomato and cheese on it?...shouldn't it be pico and lime and corn shells ?I'm confused...
The burritos and chimichangas have always been good. Definitely the best Mexican restaurant in town. Dishes aren’t unexpectedly spicy either, and nothing tastes cheap.
Food was terrible. I ordered a taco bowl. The chicken looked and tasted like tuna from a package. No rice or beans. Just shredded lettuce and the food had water in it. I took one bite and threw it away. I ended up ordering from Mario's.
A nice little restaurant with fantastic offerings!
La Casita is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the greater Waterbury area! The combination of great service, food, and drinks makes every visit enjoyable. The salsa alone is worth going out of your to stop by. Recommend food(beyond everything): Grilled chicken quesadillas, chili con queso, chile rojo, fajitas, and chicken wings(yes the wings are good here). Best of all, the Margaritas are fantastic!
Their menu is great. The variety of selections has good taste, and the prices are not too pricey. I had my order to go, but it's a nice place to have a sit-down dinner as well.
The food was freshly made but hugely lacked flavor. The salsa with chips was a watery tomato juice with a bit of chopped tomatoes, cilantro and onion. No salt, jalapeño, lime juice. It was an insult to be given tobasco sauce when we asked for a hot sauce. The food was extremely bland. Rice, chili rellenos, tamales, chimichanga and enchiladas all needed seasoning. We have eaten Mexican food in many different States. Mexican food was poorly represented here For the price of our meal we were not satisfied. We will not be back

Had a horrible experience at La Casita tonight. Ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was like wet cat food. I had to reorder and pick up new food. Had to pay twice. Ruined our dinner plans. 10/18/24

I didn't feel like cooking mexican food at home, so I thought I world try this place. Been looking at it for about 2 years. Curiosity 🤔. Should have just made my own food. Would have been cheaper and better. The good was cooked fresh but had absolutely no flavor. I was insulted when I asked for got side thinking I would get fresh made. Nope. Got a bottle of Tabasco. Salsa for the chips was more like tomato juice with onion, dice tomato and cilantro. Very dissappointing. Won't be back. At least taco bell has different salsas.
