I have Iamaican roots and this is THE ONLY restaurant in CT that serves authentic Jamaican Food the Escoveitch Red Snapper with rice & peas with veggies, is my favorite.. it’s a humble spot with a storefront in the restaurant, This is exactly how small restaurants in Jamaica the main island operate, Authentic🏆

Today I felt like be on the wild side and tried oxtail and curry goat combination. Oh let me tell you I was not disappointed. I’m very indecisive and when I’m hungry. This will definitely be my go to spot whenever I’m visiting Newbritain.

Ordered oxtail meal that was $23 and it was all bones, there was barely 4-5 very small pieces of actual oxtail meat, the rest was all bones. The fried chicken was completely soggy and somehow the chicken itself was dry. The jerk chicken and the plantains were also very dry/overcooked. The beef and chicken patties were okay and the dumpling was good. For what we spent on ordering from here, I was not happy to say the least and we won't be ordering anything from here ever again.

I order jerk chicken and got over night stew or baked chicken, tha cabbage tasted like it was in metal pan. Only thing I could eat was the rice without gravy. So pissed I bought this 10 in the morning

I can't speak to service or anything like that, but my wife ordered their chicken soup for me since I was sick. You would think, with the dish being called chicken soup and all... that there would be chicken in it.
You would be wrong.
While the broth tasted nice enough, this feels like a rip of. I got a chicken bone and some chunks of fat. But, last I checked, chicken soup still calls for some actual meat.

Ordered a large chicken soup $12.00. Soup was placed styraphome cup that was definitely not a large and the cup ended up busting at the bottom, because the soup was too hot for the container. Didnt even get to try the food. Please use better packaging for your soups.

I purchased 2 jerk chicken patties and 1 beef patty they were all old you couldn’t taste and jerk seasoning on the chicken the dough wasn’t cooked completely and the beef was just terrible hardly any filling in any of them so you couldn’t really tell what you were eating the grease had come thru the bag never again. I also go chicken soup but I was afraid to eat it the small was over $7 and it took her 10 minutes to bring it from the back NEVER AGAIN. Y’all need to do better
