I've passed this restaurant a thousand times, and finally took my daughters to Cherry Street East. We had a great meal - the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices reasonable. We will definitely return.
I used to go here quite often many moons ago, but for some reason haven't been there in quite a while. But was meeting an old friend who lives in New Caanan, and we chose this place. I opted for the Fish-n-Chips which was pretty tasty, but somewhat oily. But I ate every bit of it. The atmosphere is very "dive" bar ish, which is a bit of a charm in itself. We were able to eat our food and enjoy a couple of beers with some good conversation without them trying...
I have have been coming here lately for the last 6 months taking my father here for lunch. Cherry Street has been a locals favorite for many years. The food has been consistently great and as advertised. The service is excellent and always makes you feel welcome and like a local. If you are looking for an excellent bar and grill this is the place.
