The restaurant is cozy with a variety of seating types. The menu has something for everyone from a burger to pasta to steak. My husband had a strip steak which cut like butter and was done as requested but lacked taste. I had a pasta dish with a spicy lobster cream sauce which was tasty but lacked complexity. The chili overpowered the lobster. No cheese was offered and none of the tables had salt and pepper on them. The appetizers, a flat bread and cheese pull a part rolls w/maple butter were more interesting than the entrees.
One of the best menus and possibly the best food in Fairfield county make it well worth some of the deficiencies such as being noisy and somewhat inattentive service. I will go back many times.
The best restaurant we've been to in a long time!
Our waitress was attentive, efficient, and friendly. The appetizers (jamón iberico and burrata) were incredible, and drinks were also very delicious. I ordered the half chicken with grits for an entrée and it was extremely flavorful and cooked perfectly.
The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the dessert. We ordered the chocolate ganache with pistachio gelato. The ganache had flaked salt on top and was too salty for my taste.

This is by far one of the most consistently delicious restaurants in Connecticut. My husband and I visit a few times a year and it's always spot on. The wagyu burger remains the best burger in CT and if Chef Venner wasn't dining behind me with guests I would have turned around to tell him that. You can't go wrong here - from the well made cocktails to the apps and entrees, this is a true gem in CT.
It's always the most fresh ingredients and delicious food! We love coming and never feel rushed! Everything, form the greeting to the service to the dessert is special! Best Iced tea in Town!
Tried and true local favorite whether with our (grown) kids or for dinner with friends. Always excellent!

Atmosphere, food, drinks were spot on!! Unfortunately service was SLOW-- we're rarely checked in on. We were wanting to order desserts and espresso martinis but he dropped the menu off and didn't return 20 minutes. We left and went elsewhere. Disappointing !
Elm always has spectacular food and drinks. The service is always immaculate and all of the waiters are professional, welcoming, and kind. Especially Hector who gets to know and remembers his customers, goes above and beyond to attend their needs, and creates a more personal experience. Hector is awesome. The hosts, especially Aidan, always make room and ensure customers are taken care of. Elm has become our favorite restaurant over the years as we always end up having a great time. Thank you all!

Stop overcooking your pasta for heaven's sake. Every single time.
Delicious food and creative drinks. Service was friendly and prompt. Not an inexpensive place but similar to other spots in town. Fun to dine outside and watch the people go by on a main street.

I was a lovely evening sitting outside so we didn't mind waiting but it took quite a while to get drinks and food. The noise from the open doors of the restaurant with other diners was quite loud. Loved the food.
Lovely dinner for our group of 5 outside, shared several excellent apps including the guac, shishito peppers and steak tartare; mains were great including the burger, pork belly tacos and veal. Good service too.
I was really rather disappointed in the food this visit. I was there 2 days prior and my friend ordered the summer salad which looked beautiful with chunks of mozzarella and peaches so I ordered it. What a difference a couple of days makes. There was no mozzarella, barely any peaches and precious little of anything other than arugula. What I had was delicious but it was more like a $12 starter salad and not a $24 main course salad. Very disappointing. Service was good. It's loud in there.
We were 4 people seated in a booth in the bar area, not by request. It was so noisy we had to literally yell to speak over the noise. There were not enough waiters to take care of the bar and table service thus very slow to start with. Waiters were pleasant when present! The food was very good and inventive. Tasty and nice presentation. As with most restaurants these days the prices are very expensive. Close to $500 including tip!
I had been for dinner before and remember the food an atmosphere being really good. Most recently we went for lunch and I got a salad which was OK but for all the description not very flavorful. The Caesar Salad did look great. Adding a Protein to a salad made them over $40+ which to me was way too much $ for a salad at lunch. The biggest issue for us was it was also WAY too loud. There's nothing in there to absorb sound so our group couldn't really hear one another well with the music, chairs etc not to mention screaming child. Service was great and if it was just two people I would go back and just order differently.
