So… I’ve been here 8-10 times over the years and this will definitely be the last.The prices have sky rocketed (like everything else) but to a point to like come on, $20 for a plain kids burger? Ground beef is is $4.50lb for good stuff and you’re serving a 6oz burger…. I get it you need to pay for overhead but don’t do it on the kids menu.Everything else was Manhattan prices.Greasy calamari, soggy pasta, ordered hanger steak medium it came out raw…..The real kicker was the forced 20% gratuity for all parties…… unbelievable that I can’t choose to tip based on service, I don’t like the fact that you force an exact tipping amount wether the service/food is good or bad, it shows insecurity.Unfortunately I have had my final $300 dinner here due mostly to the ridiculous prices and absurd forced gratuity.I’m sure your business will do well regardless of this review but for the love of people trying to eat out and spend the price of a car payment to do so….. think about the consumer and don’t be so selfish, your business will thrive for years to come when you take care of the people taking care of you.

Over priced. The food was good and the service was quite good. My problem is the price. I would estimate that they are at least 15 to 20% higher than comparable restaurants in the general area. It's just not worth it. Also, if you don't cancel your reservation a day and a half before your scheduled time you are charged. I think that is excessive, particularly because they were not even close to full.

Nothing less than a five star establishment in my opinion. We have eaten here many times over the past 5 years. Always my first choice for a special occasion, a get together with friends or a romantic dinner for two

The room has a nice atmosphere - there is a lively bar but it doesn't interfere with the intimacy of the main dining area. Lots of options on the menu (but it is dark in there and the font is small - so bring your glasses!) and a nice wine list. But we were disappointed by our appetizer and our meals. The pastas were tough and the sauces bland. The meat wasnt a top cut and not cooked well. The bread was very good but they didnt come by and refill the basket. Has a ton of potential but needs to get the food sorted.

I've eaten here at least five times with consistently inconsistent results. Service is always pleasant; the bar is always busy; and the vibe is always fun -- but the food itself is hit or miss. Appetizers and desserts are very good and bookend a meal with main dishes that simply don't keep pace.From the apps, Nonna's meatballs are tasty and served with bread ready to be dipped in the accompanying sauce. The risotto balls are yummy cheesiness and the charred Brussels are delish. Fast forward to dessert and scoop up the cookie skillet (warm and gooey).Unfortunately, social norms may pressure you into having a "main dish," which likely will disappoint. The local duck breast has too little duck and too much "root vegetables" -- and assembly of odd accompanying veggies that includes massive hunks of onion and just doesn't work with the duck. The Berkshire pork is swimming in oil (see photo).

Had a table outside , had a call 1.5 hrs before that it had been canceled because of rain forecasted and there was no room inside . I asked if they could make room somewhere as it was a birthday and they said they would be back. Heard nothing. Won’t be ever going back
Went here for brunch. Food was pricey and not impressive. My partner ordered steak rancheros medium-rare and it came out well done. The wait staff seemed to forget about us outside and it took forever for someone to take our order and then forever for the food to come out. We had to go inside to ask for our check. The staff was generally unresponsive.

Big group, party went perfectly, staff was really nice and patient with many young kids and a few dozen adults. A few other restaurants were giving us the runaround on a birthday party but South End took the challenge and said they could get it done, and they got it done. Thanks for all hard work helping everyone have an enjoyable birthday party today.

The food was top rate. The service was very slow (even though they were not full), uninterested and one had the sense that they felt superior to you - unless you were a friend or a regular. Incredibly loud ambiance (seemingly a trend is restaurants these days). Will not be back even though the food was great.
